Is it acceptable for a person who doesn't participate in DPC to sell prints in DCPrints?
Even though they are a member they haven't added to the comunity, either by participating in contests of offereing feedback in user forums. Don't get me wrong, the person in question has great pictures, however that they don't participate seems to me like a slap in the face to the group as a whole. That DPC isn't an acceptable outlet for their talent.
Just my 2 cents. And yes I know I haven't participated in a while myself, but I'm also not trying to sell pictures either. I also hope to particiape more now that I have my camera back.

Its not ethical, its financial. You pay to sell your prints there - why should it be a problem when you are turning over 50% of the profit on every print sold to the site ?

Or maybe 25% to the site if you get your own referral commission. If the pictures are selling, it could have the added benefit of driving more traffic to the site. |

Paying for membership grants the right to sell prints. There is no other requirement for participation.

And just because someone doesn't participate doesn't necessarily mean that they don't consider DPC "an acceptable outlet for their talent," which sounds somewhat snobbish. Maybe they've been busy, maybe they haven't hit a photo that's right for the challenge yet, maybe they aren't interested in submitting just for the sake of submitting. But DPC Prints isn't just a nice bonus for the people who do participate in DPC...you pay, you get to use it.

what triggers my perplexity is that the comment is coming from a "registered user" and not a "member". As a "Registered User" myself I would never considered to tell members what they should do...
