Which of these photos is the most successful in you opinion and why. I am leaning one way, but want to see what others feeling are also. Thanks!

Definitely number 1 as the subject is bigger and closer to the sign and the right arm is cocked exactly as in the sign.

Thank you for your thoughts. :-)

I actually prefer the third one. The person in the photo is more of a 'serendipitous' (is that even a word?) element in the image. It just feels good...

Same here. I think it works a lot better compositionally and I like that it's a little more subtle. The first one is so in your face about mimicking the sign that it almost feels staged. I also tend to dislike square crops for most subjects...

Third one. Better use of the overall use of the frame. Also the fact the the person is engaging the scene more. Though I would have preferred the whole head...

The only image where the person actually looks like they are doing what the sign is "telling" them to do.

Man, I really can't decide. I'm torn between the first and the third. I much prefer the person walking in the opposite direction of the sign and I like that the real feet and the sign feet align together in the first one but I don't like the composition that much. Ironically, I absolutely love square crops but I don't think this is an example of when it is working particularly well. It seems too forced by the scene and bit too tight. The composition in the third is most appealing to me but I don't find it nearly as effective in terms of the persons location. Actually, what bothers me most about all of these shots is the black thing (light?) in the upper left. I think it's really pulling the eye away and making them feel unbalanced.

I like number one, for the mirror image quality of the stick figure in the sign and the real live person walking the opposite direction, and yet their leg positions are the same.

Great input everyone thanks!

Well the first one is actually framed the same as the others but I thought the negative space was too much too me and thus the crop. In all honesty, the second one feels the best compositionally to me, but I didn't capture the stance right. I want it to mimic the sign, but I don't want it to be too overbearing in the similarity. That makes me want to choose number three. However, the top of her head out of the frame does bother me too. So that leaves number one, the square crop. Which I like, but....I don't know. Something doesn't want to let me choose it. This photo (which ever one I choose) will be used for my Street Photography assignment in photography class. I just thought I'd tap into the deep well of collective photographic wisdoms that is here in DPC. I really appreciate the info. :-)
