Hi, I'm currently very excited, as I just sold my first print!!! Basically our photography club has a little gallery in the local coffee shop, and someone contacted the club asking to buy. I didn't even know my photo was in the gallery as it was transferred their after a competition :P. So i contacted the buyer, and she agreed to $AUD50.00 for an A4 size print. It's also my best shot on dpc :P

Anyway, excitement aside, I now have a few questions.

1) Where to print? Locally it costs $AUD15 (but its at a generic department store, so no idea of quality), and the other local place is $2 for generic 8x12, and $14 for ilford paper 8x12. DPC prints charges $AUD14 (ish). How is dpcprints quality? or are there other places i should print?

2) do i get gloss or matte?

3) am i supposed to put my name anywhere on the print? or just sign back? or nothing lol?

Thanks, as you can see, i'm very n00b (I've never even printed my own photo :P)

I'd advise matte, as glossy paper will compete with a glass frame with regard to reflections. Also, this is your quality stuff right? So go for the expensive paper. DPCPrints gives excellent quality.

I sign the mat surrounding the print, but everyone is different on this. If you sign the actual print, make sure you use an acid-free pen/ink so it doesn't damage the print.

Congratulations!

I've ordered quite a few of my prints from DPC prints and the quality is always top notch. They come nicely packaged in stiff tubes, so they come in perfect condition.

I don't know what shipping costs you'd incur, but that's probably and issue, so you might be better off finding something more local.

From what i could gather from dpcprints, the print costs $3.50, and postage $5.95. so that works out to about $14 AUD

Might as well order more stuff and save on shipping.
