Got up at 5AM to get this shot :P was originally going their to get my entry for free study, but this just stood out as perfect for this challenge. Shot was taken a bit after sunrise once the light hit properly. I tried to get the guy behind to move, but he didn't speak english, so no success there. Also, there was a shadow of a building behind me making an ugly line halfway down the boat, so i had to get a very frontal angle to make it unseen (though you can see it on the sand). Shot was taken at the 18mm end of the kit lens, and I'm surprised just how "wide angle" it really is, i was almost under the tip of the boat when i took the photo lol. Oh, and gotta love polarising filters... otherwise would have needed advanced editing rules to get that beautiful gradient

Since i can't figure out how to edit my initial comments, i'd really like to say thanks to everyone who gave me a vote, and it's my best finish by far, and i'm very happy :)

initially i wanted to remove the guy and other distracting elements, but in a way i guess its lucky it was a basic editing challenge, and now i know that the dude might be something to keep for a final version.

S T U N N I N G.

absolutely worth every bit of work you put into it. I actually like the person in the shot. It really gives this pic a subtle hint of grandiose.

I would have been the 12th ten on your list.

Now that is a cool boat. Its hard to tell the perspective and the size from the piicture. It looks huge but I am guessing much smaller than I think. Either way, I like this shot. Good job. Bumping up.

Great leading lines. A bit abstract, but ok. Something just feels a bit off on this one though. I wonder if a yellower cast to the boat (?) would complement the blue sky better. You could get that through post processing or just late evening sun.

Its very interesting object and nice picture but it misses some real point of interest. Maybe i would try it at another weather with some dramatic stormy sky.

I like the perspective and the man (?) to the left gives it some scale. Exposure is a bit off on the bottom so detail is lost.

Great shot. The guy standing beside it (it looks like a person anyway) really brings out the size.
