KYOTO can be pronounced as a word because it is a word. it's a city in japan.
LOL is an acronym, but it's not pronounced as a word. it's pronounced "ell oh ell."

I Really Like the Photos But the titles are in a foriegn Language is it Esperanto??!! LOL.

Yea someone left a comment saying they hoped my photo fit what the acronym was and mine is REALLY straight forward... unless maybe you don't know English well? Then in that case you shouldn't be something you are judging on if you know that you don't know common American acronyms.
Ugh.
My score is better than yesterday but not good. Someone asked to have mine validated. That's an annoyance and a hoot to me really. Annoyance because now I'm wondering if people think it's not legal and are voting low because of it... and hilarious because my photo (to me) didn't seem like anything all that complicated that to the point where it would look illegal.

As far as the titlings... I think people should lay off of the harsh judging. TO ME I thought the description meant make up an acronym. I actually thought that mine was boring because it is an already established one. And now people are splitting hairs about weither the acronym is real or not.
This is certainly a challenge where you should just judge the photos I think. |

I've heard people pronouncing LOL as a word (like in Lolita). But Kyoto an acronym??? LOL, must be the global warming ;) |

Considering that it didn't quite come out as envisioned and it's an obscure acronym to start with I guess I'll take it. Hopefully I at least get some lighting tips out of this. |

I rarely get too bothered by comments, but I have to say, I am getting furious with people leaving comments like the one I just got from (baghead of course) about the fact that it's not a pronounceable word! Even after all this talk and the clear directive by site council of what this challenge is about. Arrrrrgh. I think their votes shouldn't count. (juuuuuuuuuust kidding. ..sort of)

Bet he/she can't create beautiful images like you do! All the great photographers here have more class than that!
Really.... some people are forgetting what this site is all about when they're too nitpicky, unforgiving and sometimes wrong! The photos!
I also want to thank you, Sandy for the comments you have left on my photos. They really picked me up after all the bad shots I have been submitting lately. It means a lot! I am sure there are many others that find your encouraging words a comfort.

| I didn't enter this one cause i knew that this was gonna be tough scoring and i would have gotten too upset if i turned in a good image and it got nitpicked by people who got they're acronym badge in boy scouts, but don't know a good photo when they see it. if it was too common they would say "uncreative". If I made it up They would say "not real" then theres the whole pronounciation thing and acronym vs. ititials. . i would have gone crosseyed. |

Thanks to living in Nottingham for a couple of years (twenty years ago!! ouch..I'm getting old) I think I speak english rather well. not counting the endless spellingmistakes ;P But this was a tough one for me. There were a few I didn't get, a few I looked up, and a few that looked like they were made up.
I just went save with my entry and shot a well known acronym. And luckily people seem to like it :-)

I've started voting and it's quite fun to try and work out the acronym from the images. Some of them are very hard! Lot's of fun though.
