Let's just say, after placing 6th in the Street photography challenge - I am bombing big time in this with a 5.0.
I guess its the whole "acronym" "initial" argument.
High to Low very quickly! |

I've never seen numbers like that anywhere near you Larus! I am just over 5.1 myself. I guess I stretched the challenge a little. |

I must say I don't understand 90% of the acronyms while I was looking through the thumbs. This is going to be a long voting time for me to be looking up what they mean. Saw a few BYOB's, that has something to do with not drinking and driving?

Here we have an acronym BOB, which means so much as designated (spelling??) driver, maybe that's what threw me off :-P

55 views 24 votes. 44% from the views voted, usually the ratio could get as high as 80% and drops to 65%; but not 44%
Seems people who do not understand the Acronym are not voting.

My first two votes had comments... one telling me my photo for the acronym was wrong, one telling me I was right, and after 3 votes it was a 7.000. But apparently those 3 people were the only people who liked it...

Man!!! I entered one that I thought was a no-brainer for a good score, and its 5.7. The lowest score I've had in a long time. But jeeeeeez, looking at everyone else's score, I think the voters are just rebelling against this challenge in general. Ick. LOOOOOONG week!

...and one of the commenters state my picture is DNMC because my Acronym is wrong (which it isn't - it's actually one of the most commonly used). But this is just a confirmation on my doubts about the challenge: If someone doesn't know the acronym they take the easy way out and calls it DNMC.
I don't know a lot of the acronyms used either, but I just don't vote on those pictures. |

I knew it too which is why I pulled my original image and opted to put it into the FS. And yet I still submitted something else knowing that the odds were it was gonna tank. Blahh! |

I can't believe that people are splitting hairs over whether the acronym fits or not and then score a DNMC score on that basis. One acronym can have many translations unless it's one of the more obvious ones. It makes my head hurt to have to look up each of these acronyms. To me this is almost a free study. Although, some really met the challenge head on and were very creative.
My image was something I liked but not taken exclusively for the challenge. I am at 4.7. and have one DNMC type comment from a baghead. It was a mistake to enter this one. I guess I deserve my low scores.
