Follow your fears
Be passionate about something, not photography
Shoot what you are passionate about
The best pictures are about the subject and your relationship with it, not how cleverly you used your camera
Commit to shooting projects, not one hit wonders

- Don't use a tripod (these things are ALWAYS in the way, and heavy too)
- when photographing models, try to keep communicating with them. If you don't, they'll lose interest.
- use all your senses when you're photographing
- after knowing the technicals allright, photograph with your feeling.
- be passionate |

1. Know your equipment
2. Have something to say, especially, if you can't put it into words.
3. Loose yourself a little in that which you photograph.
4. Let it tell you how to take and make your pictures.
6. I'm leaving this blank (still working on it). |

Find some photos or a photographer you like, and, insomuch is possible, try and copy some of them. Don't just try and emulate them, but try to copy them.
This will no doubt be a humbling experience because initially you will fail miserably. Indeed, in many instances the original photographer is hard-pressed to recreate one of the their own better works... so this is not a problem. It's a path of discovery. Just keep working at it till you get close. Along the way you will learn a great deal. |
