Krgl, do you mount the SB800s, how do you use them? |

Ack, life is entirely too busy. Sorry I haven't been on in a while.
I'm trying to get something together for love and hate, but I'm not in a good area for street photography.
Question krgl, why did you go with $1300 in SB800s over a full lighting setup with flashes and booms and umbrellas and what not? |

Does anyone have a favorite wide-angle lens?
What about an all-around lens?
I'm doing a trip to China this summer and I want to go fairly minimal, two or three lenses, but I want a good range. |

My favorite lens at the moment is the Tamron 28-75 f2.8. Contrary to popular opinion, I like this lens much better than the 18-200VR. This lens is allways on my D80, I tried to go with the flow and love the 18-200, but at the end of the day, I would go back to the Tamron. Maybe it's the way I take photos, but in my opinion, the Tamron is the best lens for me, not to mention the price. |

The girlfriend just bought me a Sigma 50mm macro! Came in the mail this morning, but I've been too busy to use it. I'll get some pics up as soon as I can. Anyone on here used it before? |

Anyone submitting to the current challenges?
My score in the Free Study is dropping like a rock.
Started out at 5.3, then 5.1, then 4.9, now 4.8. Damn. |

What kind of printer does everyone use for their work? I'm always curious what photographers are using. My girlfriend and I (graphic designers) just decided to get rid of both our printers, a 1280 and 1800, and go into great debt for a 3800. It produces the most incredible inkjet prints I've ever seen. |

I just finished up two challenges: Street Photography & Trees. I'm not entered in anything currently but I'm eyeing Alternative Medicine and Red II. My last few entries have been rather disappointing.
BTW: Thanks for the great round of comments you posted on my pics recently. Much appreciated.
I'd love to see some pics taken with your new 50mm. Congrats! I love new toys ;)

I was in the Love/Trees challenges and now I watch my Low Key entry getting hammered... A friend of mine told me yesterday that she thinks I think too much when I setup photos and that shows in the result. This is not the first time I get this comment...
Anyway, I hadn't much time to keep up with the commenting of your entries, I hope I'll catch up this weekend...
cheers,
yianis

Wow, it took me hours this week to vote on all the pictures. I've voted on over 1400 pictures already this last week, and I still have to finish all the challenges that ended this week. It's hard to keep up with it all. |

I am wallowing in mediocre, both my Furniture and Free Study are at a solid 4.9. Consistantly bad, I got the consistantly market covered. |

I feel your pain. My Feb Free Study has been wavering around a 4.9. I just hopes it keeps it's head above a 4.8. Three hours to go. |

Hey all, I re-processed my HDR in Providence image and I was hoping for some feedback. I rather like the perspective of the original, but the colors and height of the new image are much more daunting. Let me know what you think.

Hey valkner - I like the re-processed one better. The perspective makes it look a little eerie/surreal as the top of the building is larger than it's base. The building looks much older in the reprocessed photo as well. Having elongated the building to add the height, the windows are more rectangular in the style seen more in early 20th century architecture. The think the lighting is very much improved and also adds to the "mood" of the photo. Very nice.

And thanks for the feedback krafty, I've been working back into some older photos now that I'm actually figuring out some of the endless PP possibilities. |

Thanks for the feedback. I've been playing with the cropping, trying to decide how tight to make it. |

For anyone interested, I'm selling my 50mm 1.8D, PK-13 Extension Tube, and a Tiffen 52mm UV Filter. The lens is only 3 months old in perfect condition, and the extension tube is in great shape. I'm only selling because I really need the money. This is an incredible lens and I hate to see it go. I'm asking $130 shipped obo |
