I was wondering about this myself after I started checking things out over there. Lots of dead links, but I'm willing to watch from the sidelines to see how things go over there. :)

It does look like they have launched it before they have finished it.
I can't find any TOS or copyright type statements. Looks to me like it has the potential to become another online art community like Deviant Art. They haven't had enough time to establish any credibility yet so I'll just take it easy and keep on eye on how they develop.
As for whether they are just trauling for email addresses... I guess time will tell but the banner ads offering to find the right husband for my daughter made me look twice :) Just a bit of culture shock on my part!

I just had a couple invites, I didnt know it would take off like this. I'm more of an admirer (okay that's a nice way to say I'm not the best photographer). I have visited DPChallenge for a long time now just enjoying the work. I havent had the need to join, but I saw the "other photo contest?" thread and thought I'd chime in :)
