I didn't think it was that bad but to go from a 4.5 after 2 votes to a 2.8 after 12, I guess I was wrong. That's my lowest score so far, eek! :)

And it wouldn't really be bad if you would at least tell me why it's scoring so low for you. I try to leave feedback on anything that scores lower than a 5 with me on challenges. I won't be able to get to the Science Challenge this week because there are so many and I have a very full schedule, but if I vote less than a 5 I try to tell them at least why I did so.
I'm not saying my shot is that great, I know it's not, but it would be nice to hear from others what they don't like about it and what I could do to improve it.

Well. I was so happy because I started above 6!!!!!!!!!!!! with 10 votes. A first for me.
Now I'm at 5.6 and falling. After 6 more votes. Afraid to check anymore.
Goodnight. |

I'm around 4. I was expecting much better. Ah well. Who knows what lies in the mind of the early voters. All I can say is that I thought there were excellent shots in this challenge. I gave 10 10's, far more than I ever give, and the lowest I gave out was a three, so I'm not responsible for anyone's 2's. I don't have time to comment on them all now. I do that after I go back and re-evaluate my votes. |

It's a real shame you're not getting better feedback there Neuferland, especially as I have noticed how much effort you put into making comments. You've given me constructive comments on just about every entry I've ever done, even if at the time you have no idea who you are giving them to.
I've not voted on lighting yet but ....
I must admit I'd be someone "guilty" of only commenting on the photos I really like the best. If I really don't like a photo I am not going to comment on it. It is partially that I prefer to say good things and partly that I do not have the confidence in my own abaility to question someone else's skills, as they are probably a lot better than my own.
Hope things pick up for you :) |

I'm with you, Neuferland. I'd love to know WHY my shot is sitting at a 3.6. Zero comments. Everyone who kvetches about these "why isn't my score higher" type of discussions always says: "But this site is about learning. Don't worry about the score." Without any comments, all I'm learning is that I shouldn't have bothered to come back to enter another photo in order for the voters here to tell me I suck.
