Actually, I think I might go for "For Sale" instead of Pet Portraits. There are just too many really good portrait people out there. If you read the challenge description for "For Sale", It give a lot of room for choices. Besides, I don't think pet portrait would be a good one for me right now. The timing would be real bad.

Sigh. I'm still learning the new IE 7.0. Just typed a response and it went bye bye when I tried to open another window the way I used to.
Argh.
Anyway, was saying that despite the fact I love taking pictures of my cats (visit the Critters folder in the portfolio), I've really no good lighting to use in this here hotel room. Not enough natural light and the artificial light is from rather bland, yellow table lamps. So I'll probably do "For Sale" as well, and it'll probably be a street candid or something equally unacceptable to DPC voters. :-) |

If it's bad timing or other problems arise, then no sweat.
But I'd hate to see anyone, and ESPECIALLY team suckers, not enter just because they think they can't compete with the ribbon winners.
I know I sound like a broken record, but it's called a challenge for a reason: to challenge yourself. If you learn something, have fun, or get a shot you like (even better 2 or 3 of those), then you're doing great!
If you happen to get a high score to boot, that's a bonus. But not the main reason to enter. At least not until you start cranking out 6.5+ on a regular basis.

| I'll definitely have an entry in pets. Got a few to choose from so far. It'll be one of those where I would have liked to be able to enter more than once, I expect, just to see how the other entry would have done. |

If I didn't so very much appreciate the SC, I'd suggest that you take the same setup twice and each enter one of them. You'd have two identical photos with legit EXIF data showing they weren't the same. :)

I'm on 4.7.., I'm pretty sure I was below that for a while. I started out 5.2 or 5.3 - don't remember exactly. 13 reasonable comments tell me what a good idea it was and what a shame it is about the execution. They're not wrong.

My Death had a high of 5.3, but has sunk to 5.1. I did get a very helpful comment from DrAchoo.

| My life score is tanking bad. I still think it is a very nice shot and am very happy with it. The only thing I would change is the focus. |

I think the last one of those was Vidkun Quisling in 1945. Saving the collateral blushes of a public trial. Shame really - life and death, ho hum - wonderful photo opportunity.

Good news.... Kivet is back on the OOFers!
Wonderful free study shots, suckers! Two photographers actually inspired me so much I wrote "thank you" in my comment, and both of them are on the Hoovers.
