Before you take a look at the photos from my trip I want to make sure you aren't expecting glaciers, huge mountains, polar bears, etc. I was in southern Alaska, so none of that stuff. Even without such traditionally impressive things I managed to take over a thousand photos. It was really hard for me to choose which are the best ones, so I uploaded a lot. I'd appreciate you all letting me know which one's are your favorites so I can delete some of them and get some free space back.

Gosh, I can't advise you which one's to take out! Maybe you should have an "Alaska Gallery" and rotate the images for display every few weeks. |

You have some really wonderful shots, I did not see any that I would throw out, great record of your trip if nothing else. My favorite ones are sunsets 1,2,4, the black and white river shots and my very favorite is the back of the totem. I love the diagonal line and the perspective, I think I would be tempted to PS out the tree on the left but this is a very strong shot IMO. Excellent shots. ( My title thoughts for your untitled would be 'grains' or 'simple complexitites'. Very well done, thanks for sharing them with us. |

I can see why you would have a hard time editing out any from these. WOW!! Looks like you had a great trip. All your shots are really good. I say you keep them all.

Wonderful Photos Jason. My favourite is Log Beach. What camera did you use for these shots?

Oops, got distracted (Poop Idol) ...
*All* the seascapes are my favourite : )
I'd say the forest shots held least interest for me.
I like 'The Camera-man' and 'River Rock' a lot too, but the best of the bunch is 'Pastel Wake' ... beautiful. Looks like it was a cool trip.

Thanks for looking everyone. It was a great trip. I shot most of these with my dad's Fuji Finepix S602Z, same as yours chinstrap. Some are with my Olympus too, but only a few of them. It's so hard to choose the best ones. I have many many similar shots to all of them. I had well over 300 seascape/sunset/sunrise shots. I think the three sunsets with the rocks are my favorites too. It's nice to see that people had a wide variety of favorites.
Bod: I like cameraman too, I tend to take some funny pictures of myself when I'm in funny photography situations, like standing knee deep in water in my regular pants when I'm taking photos of people fishing with waders on. I have a lot of photos with the colors of pastel wake. That was sunrise from the boat I believe. I'm working on a few stitches panorama's that have the same light. Oh, and thanks for fixing the link.
Ellamay: good suggestion about PS work on the back of the totem shot. And I'm gonna use your simple complexities, if you don't mind. :)

You got some great shots there! Congrats!
I just got back (hours ago) from a cruise up to Alaska, but it'll take me a while to find a dozen or so good shots out of the 1500 I took :) You had much better weather than I did, so I'm glad to have a handy excuse for not getting comparable shots.

It rained every single day that I was actually there but it would clear up for an hour or two. The ferry ride up from Washington was perfect weather though. I didn't let the weather stop me from doing things. I brought the camera in a dry-bag everywhere I went. I was very glad I invested in one! |

Thanks ellamay, I changed it. Now it's time to take some photos off dpc. I think I'm going to get rid of most of the tree ones since they aren't really as impressive as small photos.
What do you think about the totem pole photos. I like them to document my trip but as individual photos I'm not sure if they have that quality that I'm looking for. And the stereograms are comming off too. |
