All... I was playing around with my Free Study photo at the advice from another DPCer... he suggested some cropping to enhance the core of the photo!!

Which looks better to all of you? Would you vote one higher than the other? Any opinion I would appreciate!

Thanks!!!

Cropped version is definitely better.

Composition is much nicer on the cropped version.

Another vote for cropped! The original shot is amazing though, and with no post processing you really got a great result.

I thought I would be a little greedy and ask your opinions on this change up too... what do you think?

Agreed that a different crop is needed. You might consider another crop even though it violates the basic rule of having the main subject facing into the picture rather than out from it. The flower center is nicely positioned on the upper left rule of thirds intersection point and the petals spread out from it like spokes on a wheel. Just apply a touch of sharpening and tone down the brightest area of the flower a smidge to fit the crop.

Yeah, that first flower is "okay"... but the second one is a Yowser! The crop adds tremendous energy to the image.

I prefer the original in this case. If I were to crop it, I think I'd crop the right side, taking away some/most of the dead black space.

This is pretty dynamic also. It reminds me of floral fireworks.
