Hehe - one minute until the start of day 9, and I am finally sending my contri for day 8!
This was spur of the moment (yeah ok - basically a snapshot), but I liked it anyway.

Oh, and JP, I do have the DVDs. Just like watching them on the widescreen TV rather than the 'puter. :-)

Crazy day today (the one just finished) so I'm behind on commenting, will catch up tonight/in the morning. Anyway, here is day 9. I'm trying to submit my daily entries in early enough to give JP plenty of time to get his photographic response ready.

Seriously, musta been some weird 'match eyes to background" thing going around tonight... Great job idnic; and TY very much for all the knowledge you share around this site!!!!!

*blush* Thanks, Billy!! Glad you got some tips from the Portrait Lighting thread. I've enjoyed it tons and learned by trying to be helpful.
I like your blue eyes... lovely image. ... and yes, this one shouldn't give JP as much bother as a few of the others... maybe! lol :)

I'm having the same trouble as Melethia. I've already stopped commenting, and I'm barely finding time to shoot because I'm having too much fun with work friends I get to see only at these conferences. It'll get better once I get home, though, and I hope to go back and look at everyone's shots then.
God knows I need this lift with the way the last two challenges have come out. :/
Meanwhile, here's the result of maxing out USM on an otherwise goofy picture.

Day Ten:
Ok- I put about three hours total into this one - way too much trouble and this voice in my head kept saying "Tell me again why you are going through all this??" - Inhalation of the paint fumes from the cell window helped me ignore the voices and keep going.
Anyway, I bought a little mini-cake and had some dowels in the garage, built & painted the bars, stapled the barred window to a box I cut a hole in, I had the little mouse (recently named "Mr. Jingles") from a previous challenge entry (which I missed entering). 3 rounds of shooting (20 shots total) til I got the one I wanted.
Edits: Beat my face up again, sliced off & stitched up my ear lobe, Added stripes to my shirt, created the brick for the wall (texturizer). Grunged the whole pic up here & there, framed, cropped, resized, uploaded, then ate the rest of the cake. :)
edit to add: Ahhh, the sweet taste of freedom is only a few metal shavings away! :P

Day 9 - New Life
This image really pushed my computer. The image of me witht he wings is 6 images stitched together...(my background wasn't big enough)! Then with a lot of sculpting in CS2 and then merging of many, many layers of Dragonfly filters and colours I brought it all together. The image stands at 63.9mb in Jpeg.
To give you an idea of the detail here is a closeup shot of one area.

My initial reaction to the thumbnail was that I liked the color version much better, but in looking at this one, it's a toss-up. They're both really great. |
