Challenge: Layers
Type: Open Challenge
Rules: Basic Editing (to keep processing "layers" out of the equation)
Description: Capture an image that depicts layers of something. Examples; an onion has layers, a bed has layers (sheet, blanket, comforter), a field/pasture can have layers (fence line, tall grass or crop, distant tree line).
On the way to work this idea hit me and I've checked the challenge history - it hasn't been done before, can you believe it?! ;^)
One of the roads I travel cuts thru some remote country areas and a field I passed had a barbed wire fence, then some tall sweet corn, followed by a tree line, then a line of clouds - each section looked distinct and had a layered feel to it.

You know what else everybody likes? Parfaits. Have you ever met a person, you say, "Let's get some parfait," they say, "Hell no, I don't like no parfait"? Parfaits are delicious.

Just a reminder to keep things reasonably on-topic, unless it's a rant thread...

ohh, layers...not everyone likes onions. Cakes have layers. Everyone loves cake.
Really, cool challenge.

I really like this challenge idea also ... would be hard for me to decide on one subject to submit ... |

I think it's one of those themes that is all around us if we look for it, so yes, narrowing the choices could be challenging - but fun! ;^) |

This is a fine idea. We actually discussed layered images in the Landscape Learning thread a ways back. I'm all for it!

A couple of "layered" landscapes:
Notice that they all have in common that they are shot from a height and with a telephoto lens. This is one of the easiest ways to get layering.

If they run this challenge I suspect some very high scores overall based on some of what's been posted in here! Yikes. Some wonderful images. |
