 I searched for the place where I could find the vines emerging from the fog. As we were leaving California, to head home, I found the right spot. The family trip had to wait while I explored the rows of vines.

The front growth was really not very tall, but held the golden tones of ripeness.

In all, I was there for 5 minutes, but the image remains.

I hope you enjoy the magic I saw when I created this image.

Awesome Becky, I love when I find that a photo that I really liked during voting turns out to be one of my fav photographers. I had bumped this last minute to an 8 (which for me is a big deal ... I don't do many 10's, likewise I never do 1's or 2's). Nice finish in a challenge full of amazing talent.

intersesting pix, great color, great texture, nice dof, great lines, light in FG nice, light in BG a bit muddy but not to the extent of unforgivness, b&w good, comp excellent, overall have a print available.

By the way, I LOVE SONOMA.

it looks as though the adjustment made a hard line on the horizon which feels unnatural. perhaps this is the way it looked though.8

I honestly don't know if it's processing or just seriously weird environmental stuff going on in the far background, but it's eerie.. and I don't know if I like it..

Looks like there is too much contrast and sharpening in the foreground. I like the lines of the vineyard.

I really like the layering of colours. Also the fact that the rows of grapes lead your eye to this grey fog. Excellent shot. 8

Beautiful play of layers, lines and colour in this. One of the more different ones I've seen in this challenge. The foreground just looks a little blur and over-sharpened at the same time (if that makes sense). Probably a wee bit too much USM maybe?

I love the rolling layers of colors and textures you see in this photo. It is a three tier composition. The foreground provides us with the burst of yellows while the middle is the neatly lined green rows of the vineyard. Above in the background is the grey white fog that falls like a blanket top layer.

Great depth of color. I wish there were something with height to give it an added pop. A bird on the wing, or maybe a person standing in the distance or a single tree.
