Fairly simple I am slightly squirrelly and I live in Japan, so I chose the Japanese word for squirrel - Risu; and I graduated from high school in 1981, so risu81. |

My username is a reference to my favourite single malt scotch whiskey. Well, to be precise, Lagavulin is now my second favourite, since I discovered Ardbeg. Both are the tears of angels.

I choose mine because my only goal in life is getting the oscar for best filming, but then changed it to the Icelandic version of the name, and then went to change my real name so it would fit the user name :) |

evryone has such great names/
My name, blindjustice, comes from that fact that as a law student you think to yourself, "justice is blind" and you see the statues, etc(now there is a tv show)
but you realize, many years out of lawschool that justice may in fact not be blind, but have 20/20 vision. so its a play on all this and the fact that photography is a visual art. Thats the joke! |

NovaTiger is my gaming callsign. Nova, as in an exploding star, carries two connotations. First, explosive as in aggressive or intense. Second, explosive as in detrimental to things including myself (ie kamikaze).
The tiger part comes from its predatory nature, ferocity (a little redundant), its pseudo camoflage, etc. In short, an efficient predator.
The imagery I was kind of trying to create could be summed up as a "ferocious powder keg."
As for why I use it for non-gaming reasons, well, I'm a creature of habit/consistency. |

There is a dragon in germanic mythology named "Krogdor" - this dragon was said to have protected the villages from raiders. At one point, he befriended a monk who rode on the back of Krogdor as he flew around the countryside spewing flames on the good peoples' enemies. In 1943, Krogdor and the priest were shot down by one of Hitler's V2 rockets. :(
My username is in honor of Krogdor and the priest.
...oh alright, I made that up! The truth is that I sat here staring at the "Please select a username" box and I thought about it and then it came to me - What if I take the first letter from my first name and put that in front of my last name... "kpriest" - YES! Very Cool! I'm so clever! They will all marvel and wonder at my choice!
Dang! After reading these posts, I felt somewhat inadequate. How can I change my username to "krogdorandthepriest" or something cooler?

You sound just like Zoomdak or his brother Rekwon! I love when people talk excitedly about something that is in fact quite plain. I also like a fairly well crafted bullshit story, too, especially when it's part of aforementioned excited talk.

Since this thread has been revived, I suppose I'll add to it as well.
My username name isn't as creative as it is practical. For music that I have worked on extensively over the past couple years, I mainly go by 2 different names depending on the style of music to keep a seperation in the marketing. "The Phreakon" is my downtempo natural sounding beats, jazzy house, trip-hop, and live instrumentation groovy stuff. Some stuff was released locally, but without any real distribution. "The Axiotronic" is my more experimental electro work, where I try to avoid using any live instrumentation (even though I can't resist the occasional vibraphone track) and rely on compositions that are almost entirely done with synthesizers (analog and digital), and programmed rhythms from drum machines. I'm currently finishing up The Axiotronic's first full length CD, and I'm proud of this work as it is quite possibly the most well executed work I have ever created. I plan on a new Phreakon release before the end of 2005, but haven't started it yet. I am also in the works of getting a website together where I will post photography and leave MP3's for listening.
Anyway, since the two names have respective email addresses, I tend to pick them as usernames when I have to create one. Thus the practicality involved.
edit:typo corrected.

The source for my nickname is fairly obvious. I pulled it from the movie Fight Club that I initially went to see just to watch Edward Norton whom I think is a fantastic actor. To my surprise I really got into the movie (or at least the concept/message) The scene where they were on the place discussing a single serving life, where Brad asked how it was working for him (Edwards character)â¦. being clever that is, was a light bulb moment for me. (I know laugh â light bulb moment at a movie theatre) Right place, right time, right mind set, as a result I think I saw myself in a different light.
To me being clever was sorta an arrogant view of myself based upon what I had done in life and how people viewed me. Almost a way of amusing myself in my head over how terribly brilliant I sometimes thought I was. Being clever was also about having the ability to maintain distance from people/situations by building a wall or sarcasm, wit, cynicism, black humour, call it what you will around myself; While still maintaining a good front of a droll person that people wanted to be around.
Hard to explain I guess because I donât think I am being very clear. Anyway, watching the movie resulted in me pausing to do a little inner soul searching. I use the name because itâs a good reminder that for the most part Iâm not nearly as âcleverâ as I sometimes wish to believe I am.
I think I probably could have summed the above up with: Iâm a tongue in cheek kinda girl and it was only within the last few years that I realized the one thing I need to be most tongue in cheek about is myself.

Oh wow, I totally understand this. I'm incredibly arrogant and pleased with myself at times...okay, often.
That's funny to hear somebody else describe it like that...I'm the kind of person that feels like I'm sitting back a meeting and not saying a word while 'the others' talk and confuse themselves until...ahem...I speak and bring clarity to the situation. I say this all tongue-in-cheek knowing full well that all human arrogance is downfall, especially my own...
