Shouldn't take long...

3 shots using AEB and merged using PS HDR

Oh my... what a waste - the subject and composition is really good, who'd care about a blown-out sky? If he really merged 3 shots for that one as he mentioned in his description, it's definately a DQ.

More than seven and a half hours. Did you send in a request for validation?

Since my last useless question generated some interesting discussion, I'll throw out another:

How do you know when to tune bagpipes?

Top 5 are automatically required to submit for validation, no request necessary

How to tune a bag pipe

I'm sure it contains info on when to tune as well.

LMAO! The question is: Even if a bagpipe is in tune, does it still annoying to listen to? :-)

You ever tried SITTING on porcelain? That stuff is COLD. Plus, the whole POINT of a liftable seat is so guys can get it out of the way when they pee, right? I mean, the ISSUE is splatter on the seat and people understandably not wanting to sit on it, so how do you solve that but having what amounts to an unliftable seat?

One of the most potent musical experiences I ever had was on my first trip back to Canada after moving to Taiwan... I sat on the ferry deck enjoying a bit of cold October weather and the thick fog through Active Pass (a narrow waterway that runs between very echoey mountainous islands not too far off the coast of Vancouver) when a large troupe of bagpipers that were traveling together en route to a provincial level piper's competition and they pulled a 15 minute version of Auld Lang Dyne, starting with a solo for around 2 full minutes, then building up, one piper at a time each time around the main theme... I think it was an arrangement that was specially made for their group.

Wow. An unforgettable experience that still sends chills up the spine... Well over 100 people came out on deck to listen... a number of the ladies with a little something for the corners of their eyes...

That's one seriously moving peice of music.

He's right. Toilet seats are quite necessary. Although an automatic lowering seat would be nice. And I've always wanted a heated toilet seat too.

You're right - cold seat = discomfort, lol.
I just did some maths on the toilet seat up and down issue that both genders seem to loathe:
if a guy needs to lift up the seat, take leak, put seat down again - he would have done 2 actions
if a guy ignores the seat, take leak - he would have done 0 action
if a woman put seat down, take leak, put seat up again - she would have done 2 actions
if a woman ignores the seat, take leak - she would have done 0 actions
So, to balance the actions on both sexes, this would be mathematically the best solution:
guy only needs to lift seat up, take leak (1 action)
woman only needs to put seat down, take leak (1 action) ;)

How did the thread get into a discussion of toilet seats? DERAILED much?

I see what you're saying about the images being sharper, and in theory it could be possible to make that setup sharper. However, the sharpness of the final image is more based on the processing the camera does to the image such as an AA filter and other things.

I used to think the exact same thing about the 1D when I got it and saw every image tack sharp but no, it's the processing done in the camera that ultimately determines the sharpness.

Although, a sharp lens always helps.

Hey, this is all about asking the questions you don't know the answer too. Pretty sure we've gone from camera sensors to elephants to time travel to the speed of light to god to antimatter to solar cells to shooting nuclear waste into the sun to bag pipes. Toilet seats are normal for this discussion so far. :)

Edit: Typo

Your logic is slightly flawed: Woman ignores toilet seat being up, falls in toilet, has to wash ass, dry ass, then puts seat down and takes leak. That's five actions ...LOL

You forgot gets pissed off and yells at you. So that's seven actions.

This is a thread for curious questions that may or may not be important to most people :) Toilet seats just seem to be one of those!

I mean, the way light lands on the sensor, and the digital sensor being made of photosites that would eventually keep info for 1 pixel (theoritically?) in the final image - so if we have large photosites coupled with a not-so-sharp lens, it would still produce a sharp image (assuming sharpening is not done, all things RAW) because even if the lens is sharper, the light that lands on the photosite would still be registered as 1 pixel... Imagine in extreme case (example) if you have a super sharp lens that is able to produce a detailed image of a distant star, but all those details will be lost in your photo, because your sensor only saves the light as 1 pixel (say, yellow dot)?
