Just bought my first digital SLR rebel XT and got the black one! I will have some pice up soon. Will be using the kit lens for about a month or so before I start trying other stuff out. Thanks for all the help on the forum I have been lurking for a long long time.

I also have one of those - a silver one. Was very happy with it until yesterday evening - It froze on me. I read a thread earlier about the same thing happening to someone else - luckily I knew what to do - THANX DPC.
Does this happen to other 350D users as well?

So, I get confirmation that my local post office has the camera. Since my mail doesnt get to my place till around 3-4 I was lik Im gonna go try out the pick it up exppress windows thingie! Of course it was alreayd loaded on the truck and I wont get it for another couple of hours, gonna have fun re-living the past few days all in a couple of hours now!
I have the whole ady off and plan on taking atleast 300-400 picstures ;) |

your lens fever is still just mild, it only gets bad when you get your first L lens, then its downhill from there...
and when you got all the lenses then the other stuff becomes needed like studio strobes and all kins of stuff you never knew about while using a P&S camera ;)
I've spent about $20.000 on photography related stuff in the past 3 years, not counting photography school to learn how to use my stuff ;)

i got my camera in jan with the kit lens and less than 12 hours later i had the 75-300...a couple weeks later i got my 50mm 1.8. just got a couple filters last week and looking for something new today. I have an "I need for my photography"list here on my desk for hubby. He says i will get to buy one new thing each week with what he gives me to spend and if i dont have enough then i need to save for that L lens Im holding out for. Man i hate budgets!!!!

Im really not intrested in L glass or telephoto right now, just good wide angle shots and learning as much about photography as posssible. Congratson the 20D! wish I coulda splurged that much but im in college and have no credit cards, its all cash all the time for me heh. However if anyone spots a 50mm 1.8for cheap let me know ;)

Seriously, though, you probably won't find many going for much less than the retail price.

^ You can find 50mm 1.8's on Fred Miranda pretty much everyday selling for $65

I'm curious as to how much the Canon Digital Rebel XT / EOS 350D costs out in the States at the moment.
One offer we have at present is £680 for: Canon EOS-350D plus Canon EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6, Canon EF 55-200 f/4.5-5.6 and Canon BG-E3 Grip.
