4 words: I didn't do it!

If you didn't do what I think you're saying you didn't do, then someone else did what you once did very well. I was wondering if you had done it again, and was a little disappointed to think that you had done it.

Then again, you could be deniying that you did something entirely different than what I think you are denying having done.

No no, you got it right, Larry - I didn't do THAT!

Trying not to discuss any particular images so I don't get my bum smacked by SC. lol

Then I am really impressed with whoever did what you are denying doing. : )

I concur!

Me too!!!

Without cutting and pasting the whole series above, I gotta say I'm also quite impressed. Cindi, have you checked the whereabouts of you know who??

And score be damned, I just got the greatest comment. :-)

Out of the ribbons, but a couple of steps closer to the magic 6.0 average votes received

Haven't voted on all, but my prediction is top ten will range from 7.8 down to about 6.8. Great images and fun to vote on.

Actually I am plesed with this as the original is so much better. Did it more for fun than ribbons (gotta keep that average low to qualify for the "sucks" league!) I have to say it was very hard to make a copy of a shot (I tried 2 other images before I got my entry and just could not get them to come out right).

Haven't finished voting but there are some great shots. I wish either the photo, photog, or challenge was listed. I don't recognize some of them. I am sure this will be a high scoring challenge!

Ha! Trolls and non-believers! How sad it is!

I am waiting for my wife to get home before we go through these and vote. But I have been comparing these to their originals and most are really really good. It would be nice if there was a way to link the title to the original for easier comparison.

Even though my score has dropped (just a wee bit) I am still hopeful for a top twenty. And keep the comments coming. They have been the most fun of any challenge I have entered. Really enjoying this challenge - before, during and hopefully after.

Still holding over a 5.8. Would like to see a 6+ here but I cannot believe how good these images are. This will be the highest average ever. Great competition here.

I've never seen that many views this early though.

Just curious - without giving away your entry - has anyone received comments by the original artist?

Yes

Yes. He/She said my image changed his/her life and made her/him cry.

Ok. That's a lie.
I think he/she liked it...

Original photographer prob feels really let down by my entry, and has resigned membership :)
Seems I have the Brown wrapped up on this one.

Is it taking you longer to vote on this one than usual? I can recognize most entries (I mean, I can recognize what challenge they come from) but sometimes I go back and scan the archives to figure out what was the original idea about.

No, it does not affect my score to see how well it matched the original, but I am just curious to figure out what the original looked like.

ps. I've got a nice comment from the original photographer, too.

Damn-
You guys are awesome. Some of those photos are SO close to the original. I love the spoofs as well. Looking at the entries, I would score a good percentage 7 or higher. I think that goes to show that creativity is a HUGE part of the game on this site of able photographers.

Good luck to everyone!!!

well, beyond sheer creativity a HUGE part of the game is to decide which kind of image would appeal to the large percentage of voters, and ALL photos in this challenge fall in this category by definition. That's why so many "awesome" shots in this challenge, but the credit is really due to the original photog, not the imitator. Imitation is easy. I actually feel a little uncomfortable getting high scores in this challenge.

The unspoken truth about competing here is that once you found a "formula of success", you can stamp out near-duplicate photos and reap almost guaranteed high scores challenge after challenge. Of course we can call it "a style" :).

Without a doubt, this is the most amusing and captivating challenge in ages... for me anyway. Love the work here and the level of talent is simply amazing... :)

Nope - as far as I can tell, the original photographer hasn't been on the boards since early 2004.

Given the calibre of images in this challenges, it grieves me to realise that I think I'm out of the ribbons :(
