In the CBS television series "Elementary" Sherlock Holmes takes a lot of crime scene photos with his iPhone. In one episode he takes a series of photos, at night, through the gaps in the cars of a moving freight train, & later assembles the slivers of photos together to create a portrait of the man on the other side of the train.

2006 must have been a good year, because they keep popping up lately.. Anywho, here's a photography movie...

Photographing Fairies
"Photographer Charles Castle is numbed with grief following the death of his beautiful bride. He goes off to war, working in the trenches as a photographer. Following the war and still in grief Charles is given some photographs purporting to be of fairies. His search for the truth leads him to Burkinwell, a seemingly peaceful village seething with secrets where he becomes drawn into a web of passion, romance and violence.. "

Two that come to mind were TV shows from to many years ago, one of a photographer and his two kids. They traveled in a motor home and took pictures and ran into problems that photography played a part in solving. He had a darkroom in the motor home. There was another show, I think called Lucky, that didn't last long of a photographer that was very lucky, which was good because he was always getting into trouble.

Years ago we use to play the game of how many Gateway computer boxes (the ones with white and black spots) you could see in movies and TV shows. Gateway use to be a big provider of computer props and I guess payment was that they got to show their boxes somewhere, usually behind a chair, under a table, in a closet, etc. It was surprising how many times they showed up.

Well, one most of the science shows I see (e.g. NOVA, Nature) and even British mystery shows (e.g. New Tricks) I'd say about 8 out of 10 laptops are Macs ... and I don't think Apple pays for product placement ...

I find that hard to believe (about paying for product placement), since from watching TV/movies you would think that about 90% of people use Macs.

Apple 'pays for' product placement by providing lots of the product for free to the production crew.

One of my favorites.

Smoke (William Hurt, Harvey Keitel): Hurt's character takes a daily photograph from the same corner in New York. Time of day and perspective are unchanged. It's a slow and thoughtful movie.
