It could be fun to have a page on this site showing accumulated scores over a 1 month period, and then have a list of 'monthly' winners...
Or possibly an "average score received" page...

The MCC_Digital_Photography group on Yahoo! groups has what they call the "Photographer of the Year." Each entry to a challenge gets a point. After voting, first place gets three more, 2nd place two more, and 3rd place one more. They keep a tally, and at the end of the year, they will name the POTY.
With the great variety here (both talent and voting) Any one person could really come through and win this, even if they enter the contest mid way through.

It could get added as another stat into the 'photographer profiles' that could be sorted on...
But then again, is it all about the winning, or is it really about the taking part ?
Personally I like thinking that I'm taking good pictures, the popularity contest aspect is secondary...
