Yes, if your in to photography... save for the d50.

Personally, if you're going to go with a P&S in the Coolpix line I'd go for the 8700 or 8800. Both are fine cameras and act very dSLR like.

I second the vote for the 8800. I enjoy mine when i don't have time to mess with the D70s (still have to think too much with the SLR yet).
