This thread really got me to thinking...

I guess I have so much more than many that I really don't want or need anything for myself. All my camera wishes like lenses & tripod & grip & "stuff" are all non-essential in my life really, as this is a passtime & hobby right now. I am blessed and ever so lucky to have what I already have.

If I could be granted one single wish for xmas, it would be for a Nikon dSLR, for one of our members here on DPC that so desperately wants one right now.

Which one? :) Elli? Or who?

12/06/2005 03:34:03 PM · #32
I'm sure any Nikon dSLR would be fine, beat up or not, so long as it functions properly.
As to the who part, I shouldn't say.
But will say that if anyone should be behind a dSLR, she should be.

Hmmm...Besides the obvious (world peace, end of hunger) my list is as follows:
-Video camera (holy grail)
-Any lenses, filters etc. that are compatible w/ my Fujifilm (as my camera equipment is limited to....well....a camera and a memory card)
-Any good digital photography book
-Adobe Illustrator

btw, i think this is a really good idea, and i would be happy to grant anyones wish so long as i can :-)

but everyone knows that family comes first, and in my case this is totaly true!
Digital SLR... nothing really fancy... I'd love the Nikon D 70S, lol
mini tripod
The adapter tube for the Canon S1 IS
the tele converter (DC)
any filters!
I think this is a great idea, and I'll be watchin to see if i can help anyone outt

PMs aren't working - if he has email in the profile, that may work best. If you guys match a need up, can you let me know what to update?

if anyone is a really good teacher and can edumacate me on flash or vector art, thats something i'd really like.
I learn through experience and visually rather than through reading, so i am best taught by a mentor rather than a book

Hehe Mav, I don't need CS2, I need to learn how to use it :)

I've got an old manual of Photoshop 6 for photographers lying around. Maybe a different old PS book, any version?

:)

All I want for Christmas is for our house in Arlington, Texas to sell. I think of all the storm families that don't even have one home and here we have 2. It drives me crazy thinking about it sitting there empty. If we were financially able to I would love to just give it to a family in need of one. We aquired the home we moved to because it was my dads and he passed away this year.

I love being able to help others and if we were rich, we'd be poor quickly because I'd give it all way to those in need. :) I haven't looked through the wish list real good yet but will see if I have anything anyone is wanting that I'm not using.

This is a neat thread and will be fun to see who all gets their wishes granted.

Mavrik - Since the PM's wont go through -
I'll send you two "old fashioned" teddy bears and the costume set up of your choice (I sew) in a kids size as a SantaFaery. :)

Ok, I'll go back to parusing the list for other Holiday Fairy Giftings........ *Wicked little elf grin*

-light stands
-fisheye lens
-radio transmitters (for flash units)
-photo-related summer job possibilites in the Binghamton, NY area :D

-For everyone to stop in the midst of the stress of life for a moment and just smile and say something nice to the person next to them, instead of always being busy and tense.

Well in all honesty, that is what I wish for most this christmas.
Like to see her semi-retire the Fuji.

Nah - I don't need anything really. The wants are extravagant anyway and unrealistic.

If Microsoft Digital Image Suite 9 comes up here lemme know - Santa has one.
Santa also has (2)16MB & (1)32MB brand new SM cards too if useable by someone.
