We had our second yooper GTG last Saturday - a beautiful warm day (18 degrees). Once you got moving around, you didn't even notice the nip in the air. Present at the gtg was alfresco, politically_incorrect, and myself.
Here are a few pics I shot - the guy walking in the one is Paul, my husband the pond tester (have to make sure the water is frozen solid somehow).

Hope to see some shot by JP and Paul also.

To clarify, we visited a snowy cemetery:

Main Entry: cem·e·tery
Pronunciation: 'se-m&-"ter-E
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural -ter·ies
Etymology: Middle English cimitery, from Middle French cimitere, from Late Latin coemeterium, from Greek koimEtErion sleeping chamber, burial place, from koiman to put to sleep; akin to Greek keisthai to lie, Sanskrit sete he lies
: a burial ground

On the drive from Baraga to Marquette ... Yes, it was brisk:

It didn't matter that I was taking photos of what was in the car, the windshield had so much gunk on it I could barely see out.

This would have been better from an alternate pov - directly behind the bench. Too bad Mr Sun would have cast my shadow as well :(

Sunwhat? Palm tree? Never heard of that. We'll be giving tours of the tundra later if anyone's interested!?!?

Thanks though! :)

I know - could stop posting and posting and posting and do it in one fell swoop. But this is how I uploaded them. So that's how you get them. :)

Thanks for the comments - I'm going to do some editing to incorporate what you said, very good ideas. And again, thanks!

Edited with pidge's ideas. She's smart:

This is post GTG. After we had parted ways I went to see what was happening at the water. I found out.

This was a warm day - it was above 0F :)

Actually it was even warmer, about 15F. The problem isn't the cold, it's the wind. It's no problem standing around in subzero weather when there's no wind. Add wind and it does get chilly.

Sort of the opposite of the heat-belt. It's hot, but the breeze helps instead of hinders.

If you want feel free to visit for the next GTG - we're thinking frozen waterfalls :)

We have beaches in Marquette too - just a little snow covered at the moment. Gives a nice crisp clean shot though. ;-)
