I know most people around are trying to solve that whole "gay marriage" thing but getting back to Challenges and photography...
What happened to the commentors?
I've heard a few people mention the lack of commenting and I wondered if that was due to all the challenges running at once.
I have two images entered that are doing respectably well which normally would have at least 7-10 comments a piece at this point but I only have 4 combined.
Anybody having the same luck?

Even before texas voted on marriage definition, I managed to collect only 3 comments on my shutter speed entry.
Was it that boring?

i havent enetered for a while, and this week have... and comments are a LOT more sparce than a few weeks back when i last had an entry.

I've got 89 votes on my Landscapes entry, but only 2 comments. I thought there have been a lack of comments in this challenge so far, but I don't have entries in the others so I don't know what's happening there.
I thought this could be due to two things: 1) there's over 400 entries in Landscapes, so perhaps people are just trying to fly through voting to reach 20% and aren't taking the time to leave comments, and 2)my score is more "average" than usual this time around (5.5 at the moment - usually I'm lower than that). I wonder if people are more likely to leave comments on photos they either really love or really hate?
Just some thoughts...

LOL- While I am following the gay marriage debate... *ahem* LOL
I have received 5 comments so far on my Landscape entry and have commented on about 20 of the Landscape entries so far. I've re-dedicated myself to giving CC feedback at least 1/day (and have already given a week's worth for this week). I know that I find much more inspiration and value in my own photography when I have given out something to others. Providing my opinions (while not always correct, they are always unique and honest) on others' shots seems to work well for me.
I'm hoping that I'll manage to comment on 50% of the Landscape images. Maybe 20% of the Garbage ones. I'm working on it now - between rant posts for the gay thing... LOL :-) |

One of my entries is at 6.4 and that's a score that usually generates some interest and comments but not lately...I guess.
That old Update Button ain't what it used to be...
