this was posted in my continuing comment trade thread but figured I would transfer it here :D

Got a comment from Mr. Joey wanting to take a stab at this image :) Here's the result. Great job Joey :) Thanks for the lesson in grunge and draganizer :)

Did Joey by chance use gaussian blur in darken mode? I've been experimenting a bit with that and got similar results.

Draganizer is a PS action available for download. I think gaussian blur in darken mode may be one component of the action. Haven't used it recently... May use it for my pumpkin though :-)

Hey, glad you liked it.

The draganizer action was a very small portion of the editing. The main things were duplicated layers on hard light and soft light and a highpass, selective color, and dodging and burning. I usually only use about half of the draganizer action only to get that posterized look, the rest is pretty much crap.

Damn! I stand corrected. Strange, when I ran it with that spelling I got zip. When I spelled it with the o it came up. Anywho, that is the way she has it spelled. Thanks for the correction.

Yeah thanks Joey :D I'm trying to redo the original image but this time, a bit back on the sharpening :) I actually used the Dragan filter on this image but didn't use the hard light vs. soft light combo. I will try that next.

Yes, I think part of the draganizer filters is a gaussian blur on darken. I've never used the draganizer as I prefer to do all my editing personally and that technique is hard not to recognize, I've been doing it for a long time.
