Saw that Rosa Parks passed away this evening at the age of 92. Some of you outside the United States may not know who she is, but she is an American hero in my eyes and one of the most important figures in the fight for civil rights in our country. I just wanted to pay tribute to her life by posting a picture in her honor. I hope others will also feel the same.

We saw the headline in this morning's paper and my 11 year-old took the opportunity to explain the Rosa Parks story to his 5 and 6 year-old brothers, which made me very proud. She truly was an American hero who taught us about strength of character as well as civil rights. May she rest in peace.

Rosa touched my life with her courage and sense of right. I hope to show a part of that courage in my life.

If it were ever proper to call a person an icon, Rosa Parks was an icon for strength of resolve against injustice. Good bye and farewell Miss Rosa Parks. I never met you but I loved you.
