Yeah, the local Wal-Mart put their Christmas stuff up in the same section of the store as the Halloween stuff... and that was in September. Just think...only 63 shopping days left!
I sure hope Santa knows what a good girl I've been this year. :)

Is it just me or does this holiday (trying to be PC :D) advertising stuff start earlier and earlier. First it was the day after American Thanksgiving, now it seems to start in July.
The summer is ending... you know what that means... Xmas!!
And no, I'm not being a scrooge, though I'm not a big holiday person. I just find it odd when you see elves and fairies next to ghosts and goblins next to turkeys and corn! (in the states at least. Canada already had their Thanskgiving)
Cheers! |

lol, not a big holiday person? don't you love digitaly capturing the joy in a small childs eye when the open their Christmas presents... or the satisfaction of using your flash gun on Halloween while capturing the fright in a childs eye when mechanical hand comes out of a candy dish? You can't not love that, even if you hate kids :D think of Holidays as DIGITAL OPPERTUNITIES

| It's amazing how fast christmas is coming and in our house christmas morning is pure pandemonium! I was amazed to see somebody putting out their christmas lights in their front garden on the weekend! It's not even November yet? |

I'm not around children that much during holidays... prior to going back to school, I was working fulltime, and now, I've got my nose in the books. Maybe in in the future I'll get to see the photograpic chances.. |

| I've got some decorations up. Just the ones around the house. I'll be putting up my tree end of this month...it'll take me a whole week. I've got about 2000 lights to untangle, about 950 tree ornaments that I have to find spaces on the tree for, then mid Nov I'll decorate the front window, door and then 1st Dec the roof and the outside of the house and garden get done. I can't wait! Seriously! |

My birthday is exactly two weeks before Christmas so Christmas has never started in our house until after that - it was a great way to keep the children on planet earth until nearer the big day when they were small.
Now both children and their partners come to us on Boxing Day so we actually move Christmas back a day!
Problem this year - What do I do with my disabled mother? She can't go to my brother's house this year, can't manage the stairs in my house and can't obviously be left alone! We can't go to her ( she lives in very small one bedroomed house 250 miles from us) and I don't want to miss out on having our children with us. Their homes are also too small to have a crowd to stay so we can't decamp to their homes! It is a complete nightmare!!!

I always put my tree up on nov.15. Its a birthday present to myself. I love all the colors of christmas when there is no color in nature. I love everything about christmas, carols, church, lights, decorations, the smiles on my girls faces, reading the story of jesus to my girls on christmas eve, decorating cookies, looking at the towns lights, parades....i just love it all. Christmas is my absolute fav holiday but not for the presents as one might think. most people become nicer( of course theres still plenty of scrooges tho) and i have found that smiles ARE contagious! every year I make something for my girls. I want them to learn the value of a gift made with love rather than a gift bought. I personally would rather have something made than bought. It tells me you spent time thinking about what i would like and put you heart into making it. to buy a gift takes 2 minutes. Only gift i want bought for me this year is the new Olympus E-500 :o)
hey...I been good...I have ;o)

They're advertising and selling Christmas stuff earlier this year because of the expected hike in heating costs for the winter. Retailers know consumers will be cautious to buy once it gets cold so they're hoping consumers will buy right now to make up for it.
