When I'm using the Vivid setting of the Canon S50, my favorite colors are those from shady foliage areas.

Purple because it's qualities can be vibrant, dark, sexy, moody, funky and sinister all at the same time.

I know this sounds odd, but I really like a dark gray, somewhere about 60-70%. It isn't quite as bleak and dismal as full on black, and it is a little more versatile also.

Yellow

Since red means stop and green means go, yellow is do what you want.

blue... its the color my eye's perceive the best... it makes me feel good

I am partially color blind and blue is the color that shows up the best and with the most clarity... followed closely by red.

My eyes are blue and I think that might have something to do with it as well.

Purple & Black.

I've always loved purple and I've grown to love black because (depending on your perspective) it is the combination or absence of all colors. :-)

(Besides, black is slimming! Or so they say! LOL)

Black. It is menacing, yet it can be anonymous or smart or biker cool or matrix chic or goth or..you think of the rest.

I just like black clothes, cars, shoes, PC cases.

Id have to say white. It fresh, clean and pure and blends with everything. it can be harsh soft or neutral?

John, you didn't tell us yours! What is your favorite color and why?

Mine is different depending on what it is for. Clothing, cars, artwork etc. I tend to look better in reds, I like deep jewel colors on cars, for just "looking", I like purples, aquas, teals and blues. I think those colors are just refreshing and soothing, but have a lot of "life" to them as well.

Standard answer as long as I can remember was blue.
Though I still like it a lot, times change.
Now:

Greens & Browns - Earth tones
Peaceful, soothing, natural.

nope, gotta a wedding to go to (observer not a photographer, thank goodness) and a Mary Kay class to lead.

Bumper crop of those little boogers this year, though. All over the freakin' roads!

blue has been good for me, but also yellow was the colour associated with my primary school 'house' and so is special too.

love to wear jeans with yellow t-shirts
