I don't see how ANY of this can work if some mutilated form of time travel isn't happening, but the writers have supposedly sworn that the island is not about time travel????? |

great episode. nice and twisty...
i'd probably go w/ the "claire died in the house" meme if she hadn't been carrying arron around later that episode before her dad "spiritied her away". she's obviously changed a bit. looked way more confident and not at all concerned about arron... odd.
as for locke picking the knife and making alpert angry, i think young locke knew it wasn't his, but he wanted it to be... kind of like his teacher telling him he can't be a superhero and locke getting angry and saying "don't tell me what i can't be..." he's always fighting against destiny. another thing that makes him different/better than ben and why he's been chosen.
after this episode, i'm a bit more willing to buy into the time loop theories, but not quite there yet. time is screwed up for sure, but it can't be the entire answer...
"we have to move the island" what the ??!? move it? guess now we know why the oceanic six can't just go back if they wanted...
anyone else scared this is all going to end as someone's dream? probably desmond's... boy. wouldn't that suck?

I checked; it was Dallas. It would be SO fake if they ripped that ending for the end of LOST. Absolutely NOT creative and not in the trend of lost. So no, I don't think that's gonna be the end. |

The whole of 'Dallas' wasn't a dream, just the seasons when Bobby Ewing was "dead".
'Newhart' was all a dream, of Bob Hartley from Bob Newhart's previous show. Funny. "You should wear more sweaters".
The best ending though was 'St. Elsewhere'. Never saw that coming. All in the mind of an autistic kid looking into a snow globe.

It's not quite time travel, just time seems to move at a different pace at various places around the island ... or something like that I think!!
All in all another great episode ... though as usual, answers a couple of questions and presents about 400 more!!!!! |

Does anybody else think that Widmore is the person behind the Dharma initiative? We know that the freighter is Widmores, and when Keamy opened the safe, the booklet with his instructions had the Dharma logo on it.
Also the time difference between the island and the freighter is changing, when they fired the rocket from the boat to the island, the island was behind the boat. But since the Doctor washed ashore on the island before his body was thrown into the sea, that means that the island is now ahead of the boat. |

Yeah, has to be ... have thought that for a while |
but that wouldn't have made sense until the last second of the episode just aired.
if the island did belong to whidmore before (i think that came out in the conversation with ben and whidmore),
he would know where it was. Unless it moved.

Cast ones mind back to the last episode of an earlier season (maybe the end of season 2?) where there were a couple of guys `scanning` for something, then they find it, and they call up Penny.. SO yes, maybe the Island did get `LOST` and Widmore has been searching for it. |

kind of puts a new perspective on the title of the show doesn't it??
there was all of us thinking it was our survivors who were 'LOST', when all this time it was the island!

I'm surprised that hasn't (as yet!) been picked up again .... pretty sure Penny isn't sharing info with her father |

I wonder if the round the world race that Desmond was in, was a way for Widmore to find the island. If he knew the general area that the island is in, he sponsors a race through that area. If a boat gets lost then he can assume that they arrived on the island. |

WOW - I never thought of it that way. I do know that we are in for a two hour finale. I read it in TV Guide last week. |

Changing the subject slightly. Did anyone here watch "Invasion", I watched the whole first (and only) series of that and really enjoyed it, was bit slow sometimes but the build up was great, then they cancelled it after the first season with LOADS of unanswered questions.. You reckon anyone will ever pick that up.. EVen a 3 hour finale would be good to get a bit of closure and payoff for watching.. |

Is this a competition for the least topical spoiler thread?
Giving away the ending for a TV show that finished 20 years ago. Retaliation with a spoiler from a nine year old movie.
Next someone will be giving away the plot twist from the Mousetrap... |
