I just thought of something. Naomi said that the flight 815 was found and that "they" were all dead...what bodies were in that plane to make them think they were all dead?!? Other wise it would be an empty plane and that would bring suspicion also. Wow...

I've had the theory that they are all dead and in some kind of purgatory since season 1. They all have "issues" to resolve but as soon as they do they either "die" or leave the island.

If you listen to the pod-castes, on ABC.com, from the writers for the show they have stated this is all in reality. No ones imagination, mental hostpital, dream, or purigtory. They just said it flat out so those rumors that were all over the fan sites would stop.

I don't know why I just thought of this but is Charlie's death getting
worse? Has anyone ever heard of the myth that Cyclops gave up one of
their eyes to see their own death. They weren't allowed to change it
or their death would become more agonizing every time.

1 - Struck by lighting, death pretty much instant.
2 - Drowning, causes panic but can't say it hurts too much
3 - Fall on rocks bust head open then drown
4 - Arrow through neck, very painful and drawn out while suffocating.

anyone else see that? Is Desmond going to make Charlie die a horrible
gruesome death?

I don't listen to pod casts or surf any of the sites because I hate spoilers :(

Or is Juliet lying to Ben to fullfil her 'job'....if Ben thinks she 'saves' a pregnant woman, then perhaps she will be able to let go?

nah. this wouldn't explain the "i hate you" she mumbled after turning off the recorder as well...

other random thoughts :

- they didn't need to find bodies of 815, just a large enough portion of the wreckage scattered over a bit of deep ocean to make the assumption they were dead more believable...

- didn't that cyclops thing come from the movie krull? don't remember it elsewhere... and i don't buy the progression, because, for me, getting knocked out before drowning would be preferable to just drowning while conscious...

- i'm curious what ben is holding over juliet to keep her in line... i'm pretty sure she's a decent person, just under ben's thumb. maybe he's promised her another way off the island?

- i said she was just scouting to see if anyone else was pregnant so ben would have someone else to experiment on after last week's show. i love being right (it happens so infrequently...)

- patch the pirate evidently didn't die. the question now is, did the fence really hurt him so bad it took the island a couple days to heal him? or was he just hoping they'd up and leave and just keep playing dead when they found a way over? gonna have to go w/ the former...

- naomi was certainly NOT telling patchy "thank you"... might not have even been talking to him directly. anyone count how many languages she was speaking? english, spanish, italian, wasn't the book in portuguese? odd...

- i'm a little annoyed w/ sun, knowing more of the back story now. i was annoyed enough when i just though she was a cheating hussy, but to find out that the reason she was having marital trouble is because she sold out her husband to her dad make it worse. she should have given that little "my family's powerful and can make you as dead as your son thinks you to be" speech BEFORE giving her the money... duh. glad for jin that the baby's his, though...

- anyone see the trailers for next week? if you wanna know what i think is reallying going on, pm me... (don't wanna spoil it for megatherian, et al...)

I think it's going to result in Desmonds death, I have a feeling Desmond will die before Charlie, maybe in the finale.

Oh please, just kill Charlie once and for all. Put us out of our misery.

Desmond is one of the best characters on TV. If he doesn't get nominated for an Emmy, there's something wrong in Hollywood.

I think they screwed up on the math last night. Juliette told Sun that they had been on the island for 90 days. The plane crashed on September 22, 2004. 90 days later is December 21, 2004 (a Tuesday). Then, on the recording she told Ben that it was Saturday at 6am. So if she was estimating the number of days, it's either December 18 (87 days) or Christmas day (94 days).

And have no fear, at the pace the show is going (about 30 days a season), Sun should be okay until the series ends, as they have said they only want to do five seasons, and she has two months to live.

Too bad for all those people that gave up on this show during season 2. Those of us who stuck with it are being well rewarded. (Now '24' on the other hand.....I'm getting pretty much done with that.)

It wouldn't surprise me if Desmond turned out to be the key to the entire show.

About what Naomi says, when Patch translates as "thank you" - she actually said, in portuguese, "I am not alone", which ties very well to the end of season 2, when we saw those people speaking portuguese on the plane.

Another thing I did not understand... Juliet told Sun that every woman who conceives at the island will die, but if she conceived before getting in the island she would not die. Then why was Claire almost dying, and why did Juliet "save" her? From what, if she actually conceived before getting on the island??

ben said that they had induced claire's symptoms so that juliet had a crisis she could solve in order to gain their confidence

I agree with both of these remarks. Desmond is my favorite character and I think he is one of the key people in the entire show. If you go back a page or so in this thread you can read what I said. But Desmond was placed on this island due to his own actions. There is a group of people who can do just like he can and see visions of the future or even better than he can. We have seen two of these people, the monk and the ring lady. They know what Desmond will do if certain situations arise and they caused him to make his own decisions for their end result. I think that this group of people did the same for everyone on flight 815. I don't have anything to back up that last part though...but all the stuff on Desmond is as plain as day.

or if you want to take it a step futher- desmond is probably the reason the plane is there too! If you remember he left the station and the timer went off- I think it was last season?

LOST is evil!!! I had never watched the show until a friend of mine started telling me how much he was addicted to it. So I watched an episode....that made me want to know more about what started the whole ordeal. So, I went on ebay and found Epsiode 1 and 2 set - and got hooked! I spent two days doing nothing more than watching LOST. My house didnt get cleaned, wood didn't get chopped, laundry didnt get done until the very last minute! I refuse to read through this thread only because now I am going to have to buy season three when it becomes available on DVD so I can catch up. When will the madness end?

Yup...the "Monks" knew that was going to happen also. It is pretty easy to set things up when you know what the different outcomes will be just by doing one thing. I just called them the Monks because I don't know who they are...might be Dharma but not enough evidence for that yet. So that group of people, so far we have only know two key players, I will refer to as the Monks.

With regards to Sun facing death because she concieved on the island - I don't think they will kill her character off that way.

The reason?

Remember in the backstory we found out the Jin was the one unable to conceive because he was 'sterile' in doctor definition; most probably because of very low sperm count.

Now I found it very interesting that Juliet mentioned to Sun that the sperm count of men on the island is 5 times that of the normal male sperm count.

Why would they drop that line?

Because it is a subtle clue that now Jin has the sperm count of a 'normal' male while every other male has the higher elevated sperm count that is dangerous to women. Thus, I think Sun is in no real danger because her husband does not have the dangerously elevated male hormone levels.

I think that line was foreshadowing a new pregnancy--Kate. Remember her and Sawyer's little trist a few episodes ago? Since Sawyer now has a much higher sperm count, I think we'll find out that Kate is pregnant too.

Is that clinical...extremely high sperm count is dangerous for women?? I think there is some sort of radiation, not bad but something is happening to make these weird occurrences. When you get radiation poisoning doesn't the radiation go through your body and mess up cells and even parts of your DNA code which turns out to do very bad things to you. The island is almost a good radiation to an extent. It has cured Locke and Rose also wounds heal faster and sperm count is higher. There are probably hundreds of things that are being altered that we don't know about. Maybe when you are conceived on the island the radiation does something to make more sperm but also changes the DNA in the sperm and that in turn does something to the woman while pregnant with the baby. I wonder how long this has been happening? Ben said he lived his whole life here right? Wonder if he was conceived and born on the island? If so then what was different. Did something happen to change the island...did they make the island mad? I'm sure I'm going off the deep end...but is there really a point to far out for LOST?
