Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di without a doubt, and a fraction of the cost of an L-series Canon lens.
It's such a great, all-purpose lens, and at f2.8, allows good creativity with dof.
The kit lens (Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6) at 18mm is a great quality lens for wide angles.

my Nikkor 50mm f/1.5 _was_ my favorite
until i got the Tamron 90mm di macro, that is...
my current challenge shot is also w/ this lens, and i've got an idea for the next challenge that it will also get used for... took an absolutely gorgeous portrait with it last week.

Canon 50mm 1.4, just got it 2 weeks ago. I compared it with my brothers L series and neither of us could tell the difference. Plus the USM and excellent bokeh |

I haven't done a lot of DSLR shooting yet, but thus far I love the Canon 100mm F2.8 USM Macro. With more shooting as the weather cools off I think I'll learn to love the 17-40 F4 L even more though.

The lens I have most enjoyed shooting with is 50mm f/1.8. I can call it the lens I love most.
But it's not the lens I use most often now. My main lens is what joezl mentioned earlier in the thread, Nikkor 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED IF.
I love it too - it suits my needs. I have my eyes on another lens, Nikkor AF-S Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D ED-IF, but I don't see a good enough reason to buy it because I have not reached the stage where better glass is going to make me produce better images. |
