Tooks some photos during the GnR tribute band performance. I used flash on a lot of them but decided to try some without as well. I like this but would like to get other opinions. Does it work?

It works for almost black.

I love dark photos with lots of details. And this one has them. good job, although I might like it in a chocolate flavor better.

This is fantastic. Remember that most on this site don't have calibrated monitors that will see a very diffrent image than you're posting.

I find this to be a major problem when i post most of my images.

Thanks for the comments folks!

Yeah, I expect that. I intentionally processed this image with my monitor a lot darker than normal so that when I processed it I'd do it lighter (does that make sense?) I guess it wasn't enough for some people.

Wow! Yet another constructive comment from ntsb or nabisco or whatever his name is. I think he suffers from equipment envy. Never has any positive comments about anything. You'd think a guy with his artistic talent and photographic ability could be of a little better help. Just runs around forums posting sarcastic remarks to everybodys questions and comments. So don't pay him any attention.
I think the photo might be a little to dark but not dark enough to keep people from recognizing what and who it is. Maybe lighten it up a bit to show some more detail.

I do. I look at your photographs quite abit. I think you take great shots. It just disturbs me that someone with your ability and knowledge of photography can't be a little more constructive and helpful with your comments. Alot of people are to learn and experiment and you treat some like they are beneath you.

Looks like your mind is a bit fickle...

Well thank you for the (mixed) compliment. I don't treat anyone like they are beneath me. I have a sarcastic sense of humor by nature, but so what. I don't chew my toenails, so I'm not a complete lost cause.

The original questions posed by the OP were short: Does this work for low key? and Does it work? My answer was equally short. And honest and to the point.

I'd love to hear some *other* opinions. And if it doesn't work, I'd love to hear constructive criticism as well.

I suspect that I'm one of those "evil dark-monitor people". I've calibrated and done all sorts of things and nothing changes. It really makes me wonder what my shots look like to other people? Maybe they are too bright.

I lightend your image in PS and a lot of detail thus emerged.

I think it's good, and it seems low-key to me. But I'm no expert. Left a comment.
