Just had to share this...
Covering a road race today for the paper, and for once it all came together, hoping for another front page with this one. :-). Notes on the image..
Anyone who follows cycling wanna comment?

Great shot Chris!! It's going to look awesome on the front page :-)
Looks like your weather was way better than ours today.....we had that 'luverley' grey drizzle/rain all day.

Ay, it was foggy in the morning that sky is the fog still hanging over lake Ellesmere.
The afternoon was stunning though, I was down to teeshirt covering a rugby game...
Cheers, Me.

Very good shot but I might try cropping off the signs on the left.

If it did not have all the proof and copyright stuff it would be in my favorites.
I do understand why you did it though, fantastic shot.

Left a comment. Outstanding photo! Editors would be frigging nuts not to use it on the front page!
I would not crop the signs. They offer context and perspective.

I agree, Quixote. Given what the signs say, they really need to be in the final.
Awesome photo! |

The signs could go either way... would ultimately depend on what shape the final photo needs to be.

To sign, or not to sign, that is the question. :-).
I'm hoping the signs do stay, as without them the photo will be identical to every other 'bike race coming towards the photographer on a country road' photo published in the last decade.
Having said that, the editor(s) have made some er, interesting, crops and selections from my work this year, so it wouldn't suprise me if they just published a crop of the sign, without any of the bikes/riders in it at all! I sent it in full frame, which is fractionally larger than the one I uploaded.
Thanks for the positive comments.
Cheers, Me.
