If a photo has a slight suggestion of sex in it,and I am not talking about a photo with two people in the actual act,why does it have to be assumed that it is dirty or yukky or that it is shameful and shouldn't be in a photograph? Just as nude photos should not be considered as porn. Can you imagine someone commenting on every nude photo that it has a suggestion of sex in it, therefore it is just disgusting. All sex is not dirty, as a matter of fact sex is a healthy human activity that produces beautiful babies. And if you think any reference to it has to be nasty, maybe you are having the wrong kind of sex.
In addition, Sex is sold in photographs everyday, sexy models, sexy swimsuits, lingerie, muscle men with no shirts,is this all to be considered dirty? Dress it up pretty, it all leads up to the same thing.
It's just like my grandma said when someone asked her why she would hang her underwear out on the clothesline for everyone to see, She said, "They all know I wear it, what's wrong in letting them know I wash it."
75% of the population is having sex, but we can't even make a slight suggestion of it in a photo without it being considered dirty?

Awww, dammit.

You mean there's a wrong kind, too???

If I'd known that I'd have tried it before now.

Hey, is this kinda like "If luvin' you is wrooooong, I don't wanna be right"?

Where?
When? Right now?
All at the same time?
(How come I never get an invitation to these things?)

Hhhhmmm....I guess a majority of us are in the 25% huh?

Totally agreed. If you are referring to the picture I think you are, it seems fairly silly to say it is disgusting. In fact, sex was never disgusting. Most cultures view it as pretty normal, a bit like going to the bathroom with slightly more breathing.

The western world is just so damned uptight about things. Not to mention two-faced.

Sex is a gift, like eating. When done in the right places, at the right times and with the right people (person? - you know what I mean), it's all good and no bad.

Were I married and someone walked in on me, I would cover myself because of low confidence in my personal appearance. Wouldn't see the point in apologizing for doing something nasty though... no secrets that it happens.

the other 25% are married

This is the sad part. What if your household is composed of 4 people. Two kids, you and your spouse. And you are not the one having sex.

thank organized religion (Christian and others)for that, sex is ONLY supposed to used for conceiving a baby, not for day to day pleasure.

also you can thank the old geezers who run the censor ship board and the moral majority for decency or some thing like that.

Sex is dirty only when you do it right.

I am glad that I am not the only one who thinks sex is natural. Out of 255 views to this thread at least 10 people agree that it is not to be ashamed of.
You know, if there is a couple kissing, than that is viewed as romantic and awww so sweet. But in the case of most adults, guess where that is probably leading to.(if they are lucky that is), but you take a picture that suggests sex, even safe sex, when there isn't even a warm body in it, and OMG here come the self-righteous out of their skelton free closets to pass judgement.
SEX is a celebration of life, without it (and of course God IMO) there is no life.

Hey! I think sex is great and I'm not ashamed of it! It's natural! Plus, I have all the kids to prove it! hehehe

Edit: Oh, and there's no way I would mark a photo differently if I thought it was a little provocative!

Thanks everybody, I feel better, I just had to let it out.
You know, I saw some photos here of something that I can only assume to be lines of cocaine. I am totally against that sort of thing in reality, but I am not a child and I acknowledge that bad and good exists in this crazy world we live in, so instead of getting on my high horse, I examined the photos with an objective eye and I will get back and vote and comment on them as photographs of a real subject, fairly without prejudice. If I can't find anything technically wrong in a photo except it isn't to my personal taste I will give it a 9. Reserving 10 for the ones that I feel are exceptionally outstanding in everyway.

I think the general voting consensus agrees as well -- take for example the Freudian slip in Daniel's recent blue ribbon winner:

... or am I just one of those 'dirty minded people' of which you spoke? ;)

and i agree with the rest of what you have said too - you can count me.

Guess you can count me in too pixie. I don't get uptight about a little sex in a tastefully done photo, actually kind of like it. But what really gets me ticked off is people who don't understand the importance of anonymity during the voting period of dpc challenges. You have discussed two different specific pictures in this thread. However nothing you have said needed to be talked about immediately, it could have waited until voting is finished. I respect your complaint about people taking the wrong attitude toward some sex in a picture. Please respect the anonymity of the challenges for the sake of all who partcipate here.
