A Snapshot/Candid from today. How could I make it better? The yellow seems to be distracting to me, what do you think?

Please read the way this photograph came about in the picture description. Moving to me.

What a beautiful story!! Have you considered printing out the picture and giving a few to him? Its a wonderful photo of him and he may appreciate giving one to those he cares about. I can help out with cost if you need help that way :)

I was about to ask the same thing - if you had considered going back, finding him, and giving him a print. If you can, I would suggest you do so.

[I am not trying in any form or fashion to hijack this thread!]
But, I know that I took a shot of a WWII & Korean War Veteran in our local July 4th parade - it turned out so well that I framed an 8x10 and took it to his house. He was moved to tears and hung it proudly on his wall (after showing me all his medals -including a purple heart).

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments.
Great Idea on printing out a picture for him. I will try to do that and go back there again and see if I see him and give him a copy.
I will also try to tone down the yellow behind the his head.

You not only made his day scott, but you also made mine! Its a good feeling to make someone else feel special, and you did so ten fold! My best to you and yours! Its nice to know there are still people with heart in the world. It makes it feel smaller!

Scott thanks for sharing the great story :)

Have you thought about B&W?
Wouldn't have to worry about the yellow.
Not my best work just a real quick run at it.

Thanks for sharing this story.
Nice to know people still care.

I kinda' think the yellow jacket in the background
is a bit distracting and did a dabble on it:

(Open each and switch in the taskbar to see changes.)

Thanks Brad those are nice. Great job of cloning out the jacket and I really like the duo-tone.
