Well, I am glad to see male nudes get 1st and 2nd!! My poor picture bombed! I almost got beat by that guy in the bathtub with the rubber duckies.

i liked your belly shot mandy - must have been shot down by the arsecrack folk.

Nico was totally blue from the very first vote - though i have to say there are a lot of photos that deserved better scores than were had.

I agree with you totally. I was very dissapointed with the results. The top 3 should be there, I agree with that. There are many pictures that did not get a fair vote.

oh and 33rd for Nudie Boy.
I think the 3's match his bottom nicely! I bet he made mom proud!!

I think I should have easily been a 7.2..

but I digress :)

for example technically far exceeds quite a few in the top 20, and should have scored a lot better and not been shot down by people that are in denial about getting old.

Some of us DID get beaten by that guy in the bathtub with the rubber duckies... ;-)

I completely agree - this was a truly beautiful shot. Got a 9 from me.

Well, I think it has certainly been a very interesting challenge. Lots of awesome, awesome images IMO.
I think there were maybe kind of 2 'camps'- some really appreciating the more 'artistic' type of photo, emotion, mood, a story, and then some looking more for the aesthetically 'pretty', pleasing, pin-up type photo. (not trying to bash either line of thinking, just different tastes) I believe most of the top images managed to effectively 'connect' with both camps! I say well done! I have several new favs.
For me personally, I am quite pleased with my results. A little puzzled, yes, from the comments I received, I would tend to think maybe a little bit higher score, but the comments really do it for me in this case. 44, more than I have ever received, and most of them really great. (Thank-you all!!!) And from most of the comments, I think I managed to communicate very well with a good number of people.
I salute all those that stepped out from their comfort zone and entered this challenge. Well done to all!!!

I am still in disbelief, mixed in with some elation and shock, over getting the blue in this challenge. Thank you to everyone that voted or left a comment. Congrats to heida and grigri for their awesome shots as well! But the biggest congrats goes out to everyone who took the risks, defied the odds, found nekkid people, and entered this very difficult challenge.

hmmm, I think a lot of us didn't look very far for nekkid people! ;-P

Your photo was one of my favorites of the challenge. Not just because of your awesome abs or flexibitly..hehehe..but I liked the lighting and pose. Very creative..

Another favorite of mine was Artyste shot. I love the emotional feel I got from viewing his image. Goes to show...you don't have to have nekkid adults to get top 10.

as far as the older lady shot, LOVED IT. that shot spoke to me, about age, strength, and acceptance. A lot of shots in this competiition that scored high (not to offend anyone) are dodged and burned to death. I love the D&B look, but most of the higher shots fall in the digital photo manipulation category, to me. I know this is an ongoing debate, but those of us who are not graphic artists or photoshop pros can still take amazing images that are overlooked because we didnt edit it enough. I see some of the top 20 photos and I think, Yes Good Shot! but it doesnt speak to me, it doesnt engage my eye or mind, its just another Perfect Shot. I'm tired of perfect shots, they are too inside the box for me.

I liked this shot as well for a number of reasons. The boldness and openness were refreshing and welcome. However, a closer inspection reveals a lot of artifacts of post-production, especially on the left. It's a shame when that happens...

I was somewhat new at voting, but I gave it a 10. It was so inspiring that I felt it deserved no less at the time. Now I have myself a new voting system, it would have probably still received a 9 from me.
I didn't enter this challenge, was too busy struggling with Paypal to be come a member, but I felt like a winner too because a high percentage of photos I gave high marks to came in high. Occasionally I bombed, but for the most part, I was with the majority thinking on what makes a good photo. That makes me feel better about my own skills as a photographer. I am currently experimenting with a little system I worked out for myself for voting that I am hoping will make me more consistent and fair. After I experiment alittle more, I will share it with all who might be interested.
Congratulations to all winners and all who entered. It's great to "hang out" with people who participate!

I am new to photography, so I didn't expect to place very high on this challenge, but I must admit that I am a bit saddeded at 100th place out of 117. I went for the soft look, and screwed up the focus on her face.
I however, love the shot. Of course, I am a bit biased, I'm in love with the model.

There were alot of truly awesome shots in this challenge. I am honored to be associated with this group of photographers.

I feel that I have learned lot from the comments. Thank God my wife (my model) has a good sense of humor. I have several outtakes that I now wish I had entered instead.

Lets get moving for NUDE4. We wanna try this again!

There were so many great pics in this challenge and many placed too low I think
f.e. this one was one of my highest

Another thing I think is funny is the ribbon winners are the same as in Nude II challenge

I was very happy with my final score. Didn't expect it to be that high and I loved the comments. It wasn't exactly artistic but it was fun to do!

Gee, Thanks, Heida for the incredibly nice compliment! that is actually a self-portrait, and the story behind it is now posted with the image. it was a pain to set up and take, which is why my shot is ironically titled "relax."

The level of quality required to do well at DPC has greatly improved over the year. This challenge had TOP-NOTCH quality, *really* impressed with almost all top10 shots (which are all ribbon winners in my book).

Soon it will be impossible to ribbon on this site, with so many super talented masters taking all the ribbons! :)

Possibly the biggest ripoff in DPC history, Alienyst's placing at 33. Uncredible!

I would like to reply to all the comments and posts on my 'Heliophile' picture. Firstly, and most importantly, a big thankyou for all the wonderfully kind comments and messages. But there seems to be some controversy in some quarters, over entering a picture of 'an older woman' as my model was described. My model and I dismiss all those negative thoughts and suggestions with sympathy for the critics. What is of interest to us is whether or not it is a good piece of work, photographically speaking, and if it is judged not to be up to the mark to receive a comment for the reasons. I did not expect to achieve a great success with the picture but to receive so many 1's, 2's and 3's in the voting without any explanation was very disappointing. I know the picture was better than those votes suggest. I also know that with the limited resources and opportunities that I have available I could not do much better. Finally I could not have had a better model, who I have known for nearly sixty years and whose 70th birthday party I attended a few weeks ago! That was fun too!

Hey that shot took a lot of work, do you know how hard it is to include that many duckies....

:P

And it received over 50 comments...(most of which were positive). It was an out of the box photo who's focus was more humorous than artistic. With our artistic entry being my entry in the nude challenge. (Which sadly, came out too dark on many people's screens - my laptop's LCD over-brightens images.) But it still scored fairly well considering and receive a lot of positive feedback.
