Hullo
I've been hiding these since a few were in challenges, but now since they are over, here's the full set from the day. :-)
They were taken with the old Olympus
Any comments would be very much appreciated!

Very emotive - all very nice and well composed. She looks very natural in these shots as well - good job :)

A couple things come to mind looking at this collection:
1) You have a very good eye for a composition and natural placement.
2) You have a very photogenic young lady there that seems very easy in front of the camera.
3) Your post-processing is superb.
4) Wish I was a fly on the wall to hear what was being said in a few of the shots (her look is priceless).
5) You have a gift - run with it!
6) I retire.

I like 2, 9, 10, and 15 (not necessarily in that order).
The second one just looks like a fun shot.
9, really shows her off. You have a good view of her looking our direction, you can tell she is having fun. If the chain from the swing wasn't through her head, might be a little better, but I like the angle anyway.
10, I just like. The muted color, the shape of her profile, everything.
The last one has such a great perspective. It looks like the stairs drop off very steep, with her waiting at the bottom.
Nice work!! |

You are, without doubt, my favorite photographer on this site.
And you make me look bad, considering you're my age.
Keep up the good work! :) |

Awwwwwwe ;-)
I think my favorite is the second one on the top row. I would say it rocks. But really, you know everything you shoot ruins my life. :-P
PS: Snog her.

Joey...i just wanted to let you know that your shot from the Indpendence challenge was one of my all time favs...i gave it a ten. She's absolutely beautiful! Love the black and whites -- what conversion method do you use? |

Mostly all of them are a bit different
In basic, I like to use curves, desaturate, lots of contrast, selective color black and white, dodging and burning, lots of unsharp mask and for extra effect I also duplicate layers and play with hard and soft light. The sepia tone is also done with a seperate adjustment layer. Of course I can't do a lot of this in basic editing, so scratch out the layer work and dodging and burning for my entries. If you have any questions or get stuck, just PM me. The best thing is just to play around with it for awhile.

So this is the photographer capturing Emilie. Now you are in a position to pixiliate her. rofl. All nice images, Emilie lights up a lens. |
