personal aims of this site?

Like I think we are all hear to learn and do our best, but do you have other aims. Like right now, I am aiming to be the only person with my shitty camera make to get a 6.0. I am extremely close too. I don't think I have what it takes to win, which is about my skill as well as my very cheap and shit lens. However, that does not mean, I can't aim.

My aim is for team 10D to take over the world.

mooowooohhaaahaaahaaaa (supposed to be the sound of a crazy man laughing, not a cow in heat).

Honestly, I just want to learn more and more about photography. Maybe pick up a few ribbons along the way.

Interesting question...

I think I like DPChallenge for several reasons... Primarily, this site keeps me shooting photos on a regular basis. It also gives me ideas that I probably would have never come up with on my own. The 'challenge' topics keep my eyes open to various types of images and themes that I would otherwise never see. The site in general expands my own horizons as a photographer by making me shoot these various types of subjects that I would not normally shoot.

I have always been very shy about showing my pictures to anyone, and I am trying to get over that. So I thought, putting them on the net is showing them to the whole world, how about that for a way to get over it?

I guess I'm looking for a kind of validation that I CAN take pictures.

Like geez loz. Don't get down on your camera. Lower end, less pixel cameras have done well here. Give it some time. Also I like some of your shots. Your young, you have good ideas, creative.....let um rip girl!!! Above all give it some time.

As to my 'aims'/goals: I want to improve, I want you to say WOW, I want to learn as much as I possible can here. I want to take pictures that make people pause, think and talk about. There is more ...but another time. :)

I know I am young and you have to give it time, but my camera really is bad lol I have grown up with a camera in my hand, heck I had a photo appear on a national high rating TV show once, but I know my digital is not the best. Its very tempermental, and its kind of wearing out. I need a new one, although I need money more than that. Cheap cameras are ok though, and its actually gotten a lot of mileage. But what I would give for a macro and zoom, and a decent flash. I don't mind though. I like to put the camera to the challenge.

Although I've been absent for months...joining DPChallenge is a fun way to learn, relearn/review other things,
weekly assignments are challenging.... makes one progress faster in his/her skills as a photographer.... it's like
being in school, competition, voting/grading...comments, etc. it's all beneficial....i think i should stop now :)

No job, no money, no camera

What can I say, I ADDICTED! I have become psychologically dependent on this _amn site! :)

The various challenges keep me using the camera, an hence (hopefully) improving along the way. I also like the competition as a whole (I have bit of competitive streak in my body).

This site started out as a fun way to enter a challenge and see how well I do as a hobbyist photographer. After getting a lot of great comments from helpful people, it has now become a place to learn and I really feel I have improved. So, thanks to everyone! :)

I took up photography 11 months ago and I am very grateful for what I have learned through dpchallenge. It has encouraged me to be creative, given me inspiration and makes me wish I had a really good camera!

judging my the awards you have won, you must be doing something right, or your camera isn't too bad :)

My personal aims?

1. Win a ribbon. Duh.
2. Learn a lot more from the (luna)'Tics. (my personal name for the Fana'tics')
3. Actually getting a 7 would be nice, despite #1. I want to beat JasonPR for first on the C720 before I upgrade.

I'm sure I'll think of something else.

To shoot the breeze with like minded lunatics that share my obsession...

Hmmm, shoot the breeze... That's be an interesting challenge :)

The thing that excites me about this site is that it keeps me creative. I'd gotten to a point in my photography where I was spending so much time marketing my work to museums, art shows, greeting card manufacturers, etc., that I wasn't actually SHOOTING anymore, which is what I love to do. So this place keeps me doing that, and life is much better since I joined. :) (Even though I'm currently earning my lowest score EVER in the secondary colors challenge, lol...)
05/16/2003 09:52:24 AM · #24
My aim is to take a photo that makes everyones jaw drop simultaneously, and after 300 votes scores an average of 10. ; )

Failing that I'll just carry on learning and having fun.
05/16/2003 10:01:24 AM · #25
Well my aim WAS to get a ribbon when I first joined the site. I didn't think that I would be able to learn as much as I have, but I have learnt a lot.

I should say that my aim is to get a blue ribbon, but really I would much rather start scoring consistantly high, mid to high 6s, and maybe even a 7 one day. I think consistant high scores are more important that winning a ribbon then going back to 5 scores again. (I say this after winning a blue ribbon in my 3rd challenge then putting up with about 45 challenges before I managed to get a yellow ribbon... and still havent got another 7 score since then!)
