Mine is. I didn't even know how to make it the right size back then. Lets see your first/worst.

Mine was, but unfortunately it wasn't the lowest scored. Of anything I submitted, I dislike my first entry the most. I'm not going to repost it either.

Understandable:)

Mine was one of my best. It's all been downhill since :D

I would have to say YES! I really had no idea what I was doing. I think I have improved some, not a whole lot but some, and that is because I spend so much time on this site learning things from all of these great photographers.
Enough about that here is the worst picture ever...

It is my worst, but also my favorite I think. Maybe some emotional attachment? I didn't realize that you have to do something very original or it will blend in. I was so upset when it did poorly.. :0( LOL

(did I do that right?) grrr.. 3rd times a charm?

no I don't think so.

According to the voters, yes. I took this the day after I got my camera just to have something to enter. At the time I thought, "It isn't THAT bad", but looking back I have reconsidered.

They never seem to be bad when submitting do they:)

My worst score was not my first. My worse, however is on someone's 'favorite' list though. It was from the 1970's challenge and I think that because I didn't use one of those long drawn out titles that tells you all about the picture, it was mistaken by many. Comments mentioned stange mouth angle and eyes, but the guy was stoned, and singin his heart out. It seemed to me (becasue I knew the story behind it) like a pretty good image. Oh well, it is my worst and hopefully it will stay there!

This is my worst score. It's 2 people's favorites tho. I was VERY green and clueless about the whole "meet the challenge" thing, and I had just gotten my first real camera about a month ago at the time. It was a macro challenge, which I wasn't sure what qualified since the description of the challenge said it didn't necessarily have to be a macro, but could be a good close-up. I still like the picture tho - even tho I look back now and see it was pretty blurry. See how much we learn? :)

I did it again -- double post -- sorry

My first entry isn't quite my worst score (second worst!!!)
But I too, hardly knew anything about anything back then.

One commentor noted:

"....not sure either what the white border left and right adds."

My editing software was Microsoft Picture It and that was how I had to resize it to 640, by having the white bars on there.
It still has two favorites though and it finished in the 30% range.
Even though the photo wasn't even in focus!!!!
You couldn't get away with that today

Yes, mine is too. LOL My first macro attempt - it wasn't pretty...

07/01/2005 10:32:17 AM · #16
Nope! It took me seven tries to come up with my worst picture ever...

This beauty came in at 3.831
The commentors were gentle.

Mine is my first entry with the rebel XT, 4.09
Damn that one was bad!

I actually love my worst-rated picture. And it wasn't the first.
So, obviously, i don't consider it my worst picture.

Oh, by far the lowest! (and, hopefully, forever so) I had read the main page description ("Late Night") and decided to join on the evening before it was due. When you're not registered, you can't see the full challenge description (I think?), so I just decided to take a picture of a late night. I made the following mistakes:

1) The full description actually stated "outdoors", while mine was indoors,
2) I got the time on the clock wrong, so it read early afternoon rather than after midnight,
3) I took a very boring picture with boring light & a dirty phone.

I almost died when the comments and low scores started pouring in. However, I did learn my lesson!

I decided that the only way to go was up from there, and it still makes me laugh whenever I look at that photo.

Actually. my second challenge is my worst (and should be).
07/01/2005 10:50:09 AM · #21
My first is definately not my worst:

My worst but I love the color:

My first entry was the opposite and is so far my best entry (I know I should be improving)

07/01/2005 10:57:10 AM · #23
My second holds that honor... Barely beat the photo of several rolls of Toilet paper.

My fantasy world finished second from the bottom! every thing comes around full circle!
