if i have too many more days like today, i will start to think i have died and gone to photographer's heaven...
i put the kids on the bus for the last day of school
and then went and took pictures in a friend's garden
and then went and covered a golf tournament for the paper
and then went and covered the indy car testing at the track
and then went to an interview with the photo director for the Richmond Times-Dispatch (circulation about 140,000 daily, 240,000 sunday)...and they want to put me on their freelancers list!!!
may all of you have days like this!!!

I like the golf shot.... hmm bad pun there... completely unintentional. The others are great as well.

Hey, Skip, congratulations!! That's great news. How exciting. Great shots from today, btw. I love the timing on the golf shot and the panning on the indy car.
Hey, Danica was up here checking out our track the other day. I didn't go up, but the local paper and news website had pics of her. It will be exciting for Indy to be back in Watkins Glen!!
Again, congratulations Skip!

thanks!! it really was a great day.
and jen, even though danica wasn't physically there, it was all the media wanted to talk about. she'll be there next weekend, with 22 other drivers, as they tackle the short track! |

Danica may save open wheel racing in the States. I know that sounds sorta silly, but she actually made people care about the Indy 500 for the first time in years.
I have always loved open wheel racing, but after the IRL-Cart divorse I lost all interest. But I did watched the Indy, and actually liked it . |

you may be right. i've only recently started following it, and today was my first live experience, and it was an absolute mindblow! these guys are doing 16 second laps, averaging 180 mph on a 2-groove three-quarter mile track. it was like watching hornets on steroids... |
