I for one (as a relative newbie and undying perfectionist), just want to exclaim to the world how stoked I am to be improving on my average - due to this site's available educational tools & members' insight!
I'm by no means anyone of significance when compared to the majority of photographers on this site, but seeing my score improve over time really makes me thankful for the opportunities this site provides...
Sorry if this sounds wishy-washy or like inane babble, but I just want to thank everyone here for helping me improve.
:-)
Jimmy

Do you feel the urge to buy a dSLR already? If not, it will come real soon :)

Yes the urge for me at least is there...
But I would also like to thank those people that make this site great. The ones that help all of us learn and improve and just sit back and think to ourselves how lucky we are to be only 100 ranks below in a challenge. :)
But I'm going to use this site as much as I can until I feel I have outgrown my little A75.

Great thread topic and a great outlook. I was always somewhat interested in photography, but finding this site is what has made it a much bigger part of my life. The community providing help, as well as friendly conversation about photography, has proved to keep my (and many) people's interest for a long time. I may not exactly participate in a lot of challenges, but the effect that finding such an interactive site as DPC has had upon me is tremendous. I don't think that surfing the forums at any of the other big photo sites would have provided most of us with a similar intrigue. DPC, you're a black hole of photography! Once we go in, we never come out!

The people here have just been wonderful. I've said it before and I'll say it again--I feel like I've learned leaps and bounds since I joined a couple of months ago. This is easily the best thing I've done all year.
Not only that, but it comes at a time in my life when I really need something for me and only for me. Something that I can work and improve at. Something that makes me happy, something I've always wanted to learn.
It's an amazing stress reliever and a wonderful creative outlet.
Thank you so so so so so so much to all those who take the time to comment and tutor all of us newbies, and for all the answers to our questions. |

I'll second all these comments. I've been here only a few months and I've moved out of the 4's and actually got my first 6+ on a recent challenge. Thanks to all. |
