I am new to this site and photography....plz do let me know what form of photography is diptych/triptych. I saw the galleries but it seems to me just splitting up the photos or joining several of them together. So plz do let me know what exactly qualifies for this form of photography.

Diptych = 2 panels
Triptych = 3 panels
containing pictures with a similar theme.Usually separated by frames. Examples

LOL no has two ear's. The picture was taken slightly off perpendicular with the camera. No it's not me, it is a picture of my brother but everyone says we look a like except I look younger. He is 5 years older than I.
I still have not got around to taking one of me yet. I need to so I can put it in my profile.

9th Avenue Food Festival
I did this today for a first try at a tryptich. The best thing, which I'm thankful to DPC for is that I wouldn't have even thought to try this, if I hadn't read this thread.

Thanx, I appreciate it.
I printed it right after to see how it would look and was happy with the results so I walked it over to them, 5 blocks uptown. Rang their doorbell and yelled over the intercom "I took a picture of you guys...look out the window and I'll show you", which they did. They first thought I was some nut but came down and were really surprised to see the picture. I've never met them before....just looked up and took the shot, less than an hour before. It was a fun thing to do. Odd but fun...my good deed for the day.

Took these during the pet portrait challenge and decided to do this instead of entering.

This is awesome! Extremelly sharp! I found out today that it's quite hard to get a sharp pic using the zoom in my lens. Most of them get a little blurry (can't be cz of slow speeds, they were all above 1/500)
Any ideas why?

Are you using the kit lens?
I don't think that the Nikon nor the Canon kit lens' are extremely sharp. At least, I find my lens (18mm-70mm)to be inconsistant and I'm not sure what it is. It's most likely me, that's inconsistant but I've been using the P setting to shoot outdoors lately and have had better results across the board.

I really like that one. Its just like you are there with them, soon as you look at it?
just one thing.
The first thing that i thought, if that dog and maybe the feet behind the dog, were only just in the left frame!
Looking at the whole picture throws you into their conversation, but then looking at the individual frames feels like they werent actualy all there together! The dog cut in half joins the two frames just a little too much tho.
My uneducated opinion only tho!
I love this, its the first pic in this style that has really meant something, and made it click for me! Thankyou.

I didn't get too many chances at that one and definitely didn't have a tryptic in mind when I shot it. Again, it was my first try.
I thought cutting the dog in half was funny and for the lines to be exact could have been further to the right but I didn't want to cut his head in the middle either. I lost the girl with bear feet moving in/under their window(s). What can you do?
I like this one too.

Anyone offended if i show a hack job of your photo Pawdrix? Just as a comparison, and to show what i mean?
I feel really bad about hacking at this shot tho. Its just so natural, capturing a moment.
I will post it if your interested, otherwise i will leave it alone.
