I think I'm voting down 2 points for every appearance of the word "bling" in a photo or title. ;-)

I loooove photographing shiny things! Unfortunately, I have no jewellery that's really worth snapping a picture of, so I'm not going to do very well this time if I do decide to leave my entry in.

Edit: And also, I'm not very good at it. ;)

i can't believe it.... the photo i had picked and finished with text and all, was taken on the 16th... not the 18th !!!!! so mad with myself... i had been away on holidays and came back to see the two new challenges, scissor,paper,rock.... made that one, and had a great one for the jewellry one and it misses by two days....!!!! DOH !!

I have been thinking about having a watch as my jewelry entry. Will this be ok - is it really classed as jewlry?

I would say yes, if it's reasonably decorative or has jewels (immitation or real)within. I can't see anyone being hardcore with their votes if it has silver, gold or jewels. That's the point of the challenge ultimately...lighting, silver, gold, stones etc. If the colors and textures are there, why not?

I added text to mine just a few minutes back. I'm on my 5th submission and hopefully last, with this one......I think?

I left a little space for the text and didn't add it, at first but decided to take the plunge. Hope it flies.

Since I haven't gotten my answer yet I'm going to try this one more time LOL ....

I'm not sure if I should add a text to my photo.... are we looking for a fake jewelry store name .. or something that defines the image. or a phrase that lures costumers?

Any of the above. A lot of jewelry ads have some dry text, like, "14k gold ring, 1.2 carat zulu-cut diamond, blah blah."

I wasn't going to add any text because I figured it would only be possible for text to detract from a photo, text could never improve it in any way. But after looking at the photo by itself it looked a little dry, or out of context, and I had a natural spot for some text to balance out the figure, so I added some. Of course then there's the struggle of what text to use. I really wanted to use something like, "Buy this for her and you'll get lots of sex!" But I relented & used something else. You can use it if you want.

That sounds like it would hurt!
(but sure would look classy in the hot tub - that is if I had one...)

Thanks for the advice .. I just love how my shot looks without text.. but don't know if it will score low without one ..
