I am doing a wildflower entry for a local contest. Any critiques or mention of favorites would be appreciated.

I like this one best:

I think you got the lighting just right. Lovely.

Thanks, that's one of my favorites, too.

Gordon, I am entering a small contest that's not real competitive (in hopes that I will do better than in DPC!!, as the winner of the last contest entered a picture that I think I could have beaten),but I may try anyway, thanks for the info.

i agree with dsidwell--the dogwood is the one that jumped out at me first as well--although i must say that based purely on the stark color scheme and composition, my second favorite is this one. it might be too overexposed tho. oh well, still beautiful! if you could reshoot it without the glare, it would be my first favorite! :)

I worked on trying to underexpose that trillium (red flower) shot a bit. Fortunately I have this weekend to try to retake it.

Thanks to you both for more help with this!!

After looking for a third time...aDsc02549.jpg
Does this have to be wild flowers..? Not sure a dogwood would be wild but guess it could be. ?? Just a thought.

Dogwoods grow wild all over our state, although I don't know if they're native plants.

Thanks for looking!!

I like //www.pbase.com/image/15233331. The warm light is nice and think the little flowers are just beautiful.

Any idea what they are?

A LOT of gorgeous flower pics. It's like trying to choose a favorite child. BUT, I love the symmetry of the trillium in //www.pbase.com/image/15233335 . The detail in dsidwell's choice is exquisite as well!

I'd wish you luck, but obviously, you don't need it - you have great images!
