John,
Definite improvement on the reshoots.
My only comment now would be that I like the water droplets but that there are too many of them.
Can you do it with a lighter spray of water - less droplets more spread out?

I dunno if i could do that or not with the spray bottle I used... I don't particularly care for the one with the water. I may not keep that one...

Yeah. I've found it's very easy to overdo the water drops - they look unnatural if there are too many.

Definitely a case of less being more.

The reshoots are looking good - blue fringe seems to be gone now.

And I've sussed my sig at last :-)

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to disperse water drops on this blossom. When I spray it, this is just the natural way the water collects on it. I agree that less is more, and I just tried this because it was suggested... I think I like the 'dry' flower quite a bit more :)

Try using a cotton-tipped applicator to apply drops of glycerin just where you want them. Upside, won't evaporate under studio lighting. Downside, may kill the flower...

Going back to the subject of closeup lens, sorry I was too busy last night.

Here's the difference on the 602 between a super macro shot from 1cm away...

and a shot with the +4 +2 and +1 lens stacked from just under 5 inches away...

Both uncropped.

As I mentioned, the increased zoom is not the only advantage: the fact that the lens isn't right on top of the subject makes lighting much easier (note the shadow on the first shot). You do however have to watch out for CA and barrel distortion.

John, for some reason I was unable to view your photo. It said something like sorry, invalid image ID and sent me back to this site. If others are seeing it then it must be a problem on my end. I'll just have to take the safe route and assume that the photo is great : )

LOL. Would you believe me if I said it was the magnification making the crud look worse than it really is? ; )
Luckily that isn't the keyboard I use, although looking at this one ... :-/
