As we are now on the third self-portrait challenge, and the second bridge challenge, isn't it about time we had another Landscape challenge? It's a major area of photography, and yet it's over two years since the last one ...

And in the middle of winter no less. We get to test people's skill with exposure compensation, and their ability to keep blood flow to fingers while handling a camera. Sounds like fun :)

Here's one from warmer days...

Oy, I'd love a landscape challenge. But can we at least wait for Spring? Pretty please?

I have visions of 500+ grey landscapes.

yes, would love that, but how about in spring or summer! (yes, I know we have members in different seasons. So we should probably have 2-4 of these a year, so we cover the seasons, and all have a chance to shoot during their favorite seasons.)

Spring or autumn covers it as one half can do spring while over does autumn ;-)

Shame there are no pretty landscapes in Southern California.
(Sorry - had to - it's Friday - forgive me for I know not what I do)

that's a great idea, ed... it's obvious that the other challenges aren't that suitable for you...

Landscape was my first challenge on DPC and I would love to see if I could improve on my score. Bridges was one of my first few challenges I did too and I remember vividly the experiences I went through for that challenge.

So, YES, to another landscape challenge!

I did a few landscapes in 2004 and liked it. Also my best of 2004 was a landscape shot.

Landscape sounds fun, but it might also be nice to have a twist to it: "no trees" or "black and white landscape" or something to keep us reined in.

No - now damnit ! - Given that I have no car to take me to pretty landscapes I need an advantage of some kind :).

Here's to the land of two seasons - Summer, and not quite summer!

Actually, Brad, that's why I left San Diego and moved to cape Cod; I'm a landscape photographer and I was sick of no seasons and boring skies.

Add me to the list of those who wants a landscape challenge, but for gawdsake wait 'til spring please; if I have to shoot anymore "bleak" landscapes/seascapes I'll go bonkers...

Robt.

Honestly.. I think it is time for some fresher challenges. We've had a string of repeats lately..and that's getting boring....

and I love shooting landscapes!
