Iceicles and Matt and Steph are great! To much filtering and PS work on the others, (especially emboss filter) for my taste. But I shoot weddings, sports and photojournalism so I don't get to play much.

Anyone readin t his reply is welcome to comment on my portfolio also.

Thanks.

First, this shot is scary:

Reminds me of the Ring and the Grudge.

As for your portfolio, I agree with RLinn3, PS filters have been overused... that said, your people shots show promise, I think. Go easy on the filters, and focus on the image... focus on what it is that your capturing.

Yes, the originals, the Japanese movies, are good, too; but the American remakes came to mind first.

As for this pic , I think the eyes are great; however, the processing only detracts from the subject. I think it would help if you'd let us know what it is that you're going for, what sort of effect...

You are obviously creative and open to growth. (And you have gorgeous eyes!!!) I agree with everyone about the over-processing. Let the photographer in you come out a speak for a while and leave the "artist" in the background for now. See what you can do through the camera and leave out the borders and effects. I think you will end up producing some truly unique and lively work. For the psot-editing, then concentrate on learning to use it as a digital darkroom in the truest sense and not so much as an artist's palette. I love your work with the antique cameras; great sense of composition. The light in the photo with you (?) and the man facing two different directions shows some very nice lighting. And welcome to DPC!!

You're so welcome! Very refreshing to see someone asking for comments and suggestions and really take in and not see it as a threat. You will do great!!!
