Didn't enter the challenge because I didn't think these two shots were that good but here are my two outtakes.

Only one that I can share right now:
Funny combination together.
The other one I can't share, I am sure would do better in the challenge than my current one is doing, but but I liked it better and opted to use what I wanted.

I unsubmitted this after reshooting with just a few hours to spare.
I rightfully thought it didn't qualify as a "road sign".

I rightfully thought it didn't qualify as a "road sign".
I was a little concerned as to what constituted a 'road sign' so I checked out the previous 3 challenges on the same theme and noted in 2 of them there were several in the top 50 that I would not strictly call "road" signs.
In the 1st challenge this is true of the 3rd place ribbon
so it would be fair to say that wide latitude is given here. |

If I recall correctly, there were less than 10 entries in that first challenge. Thats why I disregarded it. :)
Anyway, I think I made the right choice. My score has dropped off a little already but its doing better than I expected.

Not really an outtake cause I just took this today while out walking the golfcart path behind our house and no, it's not really a "roadsign"..... I wish I would've found it sooner as I quite like it. :-)
I'm sitting at a 5.5 right now with what I did enter so it probably wouldn't have hurt me much.

This isn't my photograph, but I thought I'd share...there are a bunch of these signs on the I-5 in San Diego. They warn drivers that families of illegal immigrants may be crossing the freeway. I wanted to take some pictures of it for this challenge but didn't get around to it.

Here's another one of my outtakes. I wish it had been sunny on top of the pass instead of snowing so the picture would have been more interesting. In some ways, the storm makes the sign stand out though as the green of the sign is really the only color in the picture.

You need to edit your post, Montereykiddo... you aren't supposed to reveal which shot is yours during the challenge. :o)

Yup, the best thing to do is to remove the photo from your portfolio until after the challenge is over, this way you will get it off of Ray̢۪s post at the same time.

I took this in time for the challenge, I think, but didn't cross my mind to enter for this challenge. What do you folks think about it? I think that the two buildings have a stronger presence than the sign but I'm interested in your comments/ideas. Thanks!

Let me make a public apology to everyone. I didn't know that I couldnt post a similar pic to the one in my challenge that might have given away which one was mine. I'm so sorry! The pic that was briefly on here was a different picture but a similar setup. I think I removed it fairly quickly.

I liked the thought of this sign, but everything behind it was too busy to make for a good shot. Probably would have competed with the shot I did submit.
